Your favorite sports game ever and why
Simple. What is your 1 (and only 1
) favorite sports game ever?
I am looking for something like (for example): David Cone's perfecto, yada yada.
Please be descriptive in describing the game, and why it is so special to you.
Over to you

Re: Your favorite sports game ever and why
Just 1? Well for games I attended this one Reggie HR, Yanks win 2-0 in the 9th is the one that sticks out the most.
Probably due to my age at the time, the excitement of the September pennant race and how for most of the game it seemed Boston was threatening while the Yanks did a whole lotta nuttin' I still rememeber the crowd leaving chanting Boston Sucks the whole way out of the stadium.
And I still have the program where I kept score.Baseball is life;
the rest is just details.

Re: Your favorite sports game ever and why
Threads like this always make the majority of sports games feel left out. It's a popularity contest and very insensitive.

Not even a question.

Simply the culmination of an incredible, and to this day, unbelievable run by the Giants.

Re: Your favorite sports game ever and why
NY Giants were playing the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. The Patriots hadn't lost a game all season, quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Randy Moss both had record-setting seasons.
Giants come into the game as ridiculously huge underdogs. They stay in it all game, and with only a couple minutes left, Eli Manning drives the Giants down the field, including that ridiculous catch seen above. The Giants score with about 1:15, and win the game.
And even though I'm not a Giants fan, I'm going with that game, slightly over Game 6 of the '09 series and that one game against Boston last year that went 15 innings with A-Rod winning it with a solo homer."Never, never, never quit."-Winston Churchill.

SB XLII.
No explanation necessary (already covered anyway). I don't think anything will top that as long as I live."We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston."

The 13-inning Flaherty walkoff game:
Height of the Yanks-Sox rivalry, July 2004
Jeter's dive into the stands catch
A-Rod's pseudo-triple play + throw to home
Cairo's two triples
Sierra's horrible game
Giambi's failed pinch-hit while he had a stomach virus
Nomar was the only player on either team not to play... because he wanted a day off
Sheffield @ 3rd, A-Rod @ SS
I know I'm missing more

That...had to be explained?!
Another wholesome thread from Lou. Hey, how do you all feel about this lame duck session of Congress?
