    Brackman called up

During the Steinbrenner ceremony, I noticed a guy wearing #64 standing with the rest of the players, I did a little digging to see if it was indeed Brackman and I came across this:

    Maybe not:
10:54pm: Mark Feinsand says the team has denied the report and Brackman has not been called up. So much for that.

Without knowing exactly what is going on, he might have been called to NY, but not "called up."

Remember that the Yanks have brought top prospects to NY for years now- but they don't go through the formal adding to the roster. Instead, they let the guy come up, have a locker, go through warm-ups on the field, and generally stay with the team- but when the game starts, they must go get a seat in the stands.

It is certainly possible that the Yanks may elect to bring Brackman up this way- and I suspect Montero and Romine might also get such treatment at some point- maybe when the Red Sox are formally eliminated (possibly by this weekend).

    Confused Romulo with Brackman?

Hope he's never an eyewitness to a crime.

I really don't understand why Brackman can't get a few innings.

He's pitched 140 innings... I wonder if he is done for the year?

    Re: Brackman called up

It's only 34 innings more than last season's total. I'm not saying to give him regular work but I don't see how an inning or two to give him some ML experience can hurt. He's on the 40 man roster, no moves need to be made to activate him so it's not like someone needs to be DFA'ed.

Which is exactly what I have been saying would happen for about a month now (at least for Montero- I did not even consider that Betances would get the treatment this year). I also thought they would give Romine a look as well.
