Feeling Hot-Hot-Hot in July
It's about 94F now and set to hit 100F. What's the cure for the heat in the baked apple? Anyone posting about a summertime cooler, please do share the recipe (Trishie, Ally, Vicki, Karen & Billy Jeanne, this means you).

Yup, that's what I'm told in the winter when I complain about the cold.

I'm not leaving the house in any shape, way or form today.
The AC will be on literally until tomorrow (maybe longer). Please no blackouts of any kind.
-Sincerely, Me.

Re: Feeling Hot-Hot-Hot in July
One of our AC units seems to be dying. It came with the house, it's an older wall unit in the living room we knew would go eventually. However the bf is stomping around the house being irrationally angry about it--trying to blame it on the old owners, bitching at me, etc. We have an extra unit in our garage we can put in the window temporarily. You'd think it was the end of the world, though. He needs to STHU.

Re: Feeling Hot-Hot-Hot in July
I just stayed inside all afternoon. It was 98 in the shade at 4:00. I had planned to go outside and do something since it was a day off from work but it was a little toasty for my liking. Tomorrow is supposed to be the hottest day of the week and I'll be in work which I am happy to say is an air conditioned office building.

Re: Feeling Hot-Hot-Hot in July
I hate this weather. I cope by running my errands early in the morning, before it gets too hot. Then I stay inside for the rest of the day. So far my AC is working fine, although I do worry that Con Ed is going to crap out at any time.
I am very grateful for Fresh Direct. I don't feel like making the six block trek to Key Food when it gets this hot, so having FD deliver my groceries is a great convenience. My fridge is stocked with water, Gatorade, beer and cold cuts. That's all I need for now. I won't be cooking anything until it cools down a bit.We cannot recapture the past, but sometimes it can recapture us -- if we are not careful. – Thomas Sowell

Re: Feeling Hot-Hot-Hot in July
This was from the Facilities Guy this morning.
That last part about how to dress? I think I saw a chick wearing what appears to be a glorified bathing suit cover-up in our lobby. She gets away with a lot of inappropriate attire though. In my office if you're hott you can get away with it apparently....Good Morning,
Due to the ever climbing temperature outside and the number of employees on the inside, the HVAC system here at 33 K***** will be running full steam trying to keep up. I brought the system online at 3am this morning to get a running start on the day. As temperatures rise, the system will have a hard time combating the heat and humidity. We are fully aware of all HVAC issues around the building, and are closely monitoring them. We have P&R service coming out this morning to see if things can be tweaked a little more.
For the next couple of days, we would suggest that you dress accordingly for warmer than normal conditions.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation,

I'm not sure you're the best judge of what is or isn't appropriate. Pics are necessary.
