Not to be a downer but my friend died last night - the one I told you about who was diagnosed about a year ago with stomach cancer, stage 4. They have 4 kids, ages 7-15. My son is good buddies with one of their boys. Cancer really sucks. The irony......her husband, our friend Jim, is a GI Oncology doc and he couldn't even save her.

Oh Vick, that is such a sad story. I know it was a long, horrible thing. I hope she went peacefully.

I've considered it recently (I was resistant earlier), but at this point my car is out of service so just getting to one would be a hardship.

No hardship, at all. If you call the local AA office, they'll get you a ride to a meeting.

How horrible. I can't even begin to imagine the helplessness the husband must feel.

ugh, I don't feel like doing anything today. I put a picture of a bunch of us when we ran a half marathon in Central Park several years ago. Le-An is the one on the far right. May she RIP.

Yeah he comes home Sunday, but only for a day - he then goes to Dallas from Monday until Friday. Thankfully after that she should be here for the foreseeable future. I'm doing ok, just going a bit stir crazy.
