A man had 50 yard line tickets for the Super Bowl. As he sits down alone, a man comes down and asks if anyone is sitting in the seat next to him.

"No," he says, "The seat is empty."

"This is incredible," said the man. "Who in their right mind would have a seat like this for the Super Bowl, the biggest sporting event in the world and not use it?"

He says, "Well, actually, the seat belongs to me. I was supposed to come with my wife, but she passed away. This is the first Super bowl we haven't been to together since we got married in 1967."

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. That's terrible! But couldn't you find someone else - a friend or relative, or even a neighbor to take the seat?".

The man shakes his head. "No, they're all at the funeral."

That's reminding me of Scooter and the humidifier...he's mesmerized by it. Just sits and watches the mist. If I move it close to the bed he'll stick his nose in it like a dog hanging his head out of a car window.

    Cats are so amusing.

Bucky and Batman love to watch the humidifier bubble and gurgle when I first fill the tank.

Wine glasses make a nice gift.

Seriously, sometimes if you have a lot of people over, plastic becomes necessary, but still, you should at least get the big ones and not those little itsy plastic wine glasses with the falling-off stems like we use at the church dances.

    Yikes, not good at all.

JP's aunt (his mom's sister who basically raised him for large parts of his life) is in the hospital now with pneumonia and some other type of infection. She's 85, so it's a bit different, but still, it's not easy...she was with her daughter in South Carolina when this all came about, so she's in a hospital down there. I don't know exactly what's up but his cousin is very upset - JP is considering if we should drive down now rather than wait till things get worse. I told him to just let me know if he wants to go this weekend so I can cancel our Daytona plans and call the kennel for the dawgs. We shall see...should be a great weekend to drive down on 95 through Washington, VA, etc. with all that snow...ugh, but this is more important.

If his kids are home, this can't be good and I heard the cancer was bad. He's prob on morphine, I'm guessing. There is no way the kids would be home unless it's something really bad, I'm afraid.

    Me too!

These weren't the stem kind. Just the regular little clear plastic cups. Might have well served the wine in coffee cups.

(Not really, I just thought it sounded funny. )
