Spent the morning in Family Court having child support lowered; now preparing for Sarah's baby shower tomorrow. How did this all happen, FFS?

I should have been an attorney. I don't want to tell you what my attorney bills me for a ten minute phone call that's really a 3 minute phone call. Heck, she bills me for a 20 second voice message.

2+ weeks for J with a concussion - have a form from her doc saying she's out of school until her headaches go away. Lots of tension in this house - she's a grouch and Kev is a grouch cuz she's a grouch. ugh.

J is my daughter and she's 16. My middle kid is 15 and my youngest is 12.

Very sorry to hear this. That was in a lacrosse match? I know that you do the multi-sport taxi thingy, ferrying your kids to their various sports matches. That's excellent and commendable, but unfortunate for your daughter.

Hope she gets better and w/o lasting effects.

Off to Newtown today (Rick territory) for middle childs lacrosse game.

I just looked it up. Newtown High in Sandy Hook. Is SH part of Newtown? Bus leaves at 1pm but game starts at 3pm. Guess they'll have an hour of practice before game time.

A friend of mine from town posted that her 13 y/o nephew died recently and they were headed to Long Island for the wake and funeral. I wonder what happened - jeez, the poor kid was in 8th grade.

Yes, it's a section of Newtown. You will get off Exit 11 off I-84, take a right at the light and you will come to Route 34, take a left and it's the first driveway on your left. My alma mater.

Morning, LTE! A little rain overnight, but another beautiful morning. First time this season I'm sitting on the deck with my coffee.

I woke up so achey, like I spent the day at the gym. Yard work all day yesterday, cutting up and dragging pieces of brush and branches that had broken/fallen during Irene and the October snow storm. Hubby wants to do more today but I think I'm done. I want to re-spray my wrought iron patio furniture. Maybe I'll do that instead.

We had a little rain storm roll through here last night, also. One branch, that stands about 8' tall, slammed into the back of the house. I thought it was a car by the noise. First, the power went out and then - BLAM!!! I quickly grabbed a flashlight and shined it through the window to see this huge branch leaning against the house. Shortly after that, another one smashed against the kitchen roofline and took a large bite out of the shingles. Its as thick as my arm and must weigh at least 50lbs. Maggie and I just finished picking everything up and piling it up on the patio all in time for some 60mph gusts this afternoon. I was going to saw them all down and break up the branches but they're all soaked. Its like trying to snap a half-cooked noodle into two.

Wow! Sounds like some nasty winds to break branches like that! Glad they didn't do more damage!

Every time I pass by Sandy Hook on RT 34 I think of that caller "John from Sandy Hook" who was an avid Mets fan and used to call WFAN all the time. He died quite a while ago.
