Re: Longest Thread Ever 4.0
We were supposed to go to my aunt's house tomorrow for Thanksgiving, but my mom is sick. My mom has health issues (thanks to 4+ decades of smoking) so she really shouldn't push herself if she's not well, so now I'm worried that we're going to have to cancel. Normally it wouldn't be a huge deal, but this side of the family had a huge falling out a little less than a year ago. I guess things have gotten a little better (thus the invite) and if my mom cancels they'll probably think she's blowing them off and we'll all be back at square one.
Sigh.

I guess most of us have those crazy type of families, Ryan. I hope she's better and I don't know what to say if they think she's making it up....except that's really lame.

Re: Longest Thread Ever 4.0
My brother said he saw my aunt that dying of cancer (back in the hospital and getting weaker by the day) and told me I need to get in there and say goodbye to her. Call me a rotten person but I really don't want to see her at 75 lbs, ready to die and looking just awful. I just don't want to do that......it's not like I was really close to her either. I do feel bad, I've known her all my life but I don't feel the need to do that.
and hey brother, mind your own business......if you want to do that, then go ahead. grrr

I went to Christian Brothers Academy for High School. Every time I see the "New CBA" thread pop up, I think they're talking about my ole alma mater.

Re: Longest Thread Ever 4.0
When my mom was sick near the end of her life she had a saying "the world isn't going to stop because of me. It's business as usual for this family".
I think there's something to be said for "the show must go on" attitude. Try to enjoy your day tomorrow, Ryan. It's what your mom wants."Gourds, mate, that's the secret of life... gourds." ~ Pete Townshend

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Brunch at 11 at my mother-in-law's with some of my wife's family.
Then dinner at my house with my wife and 2 of my sons, and two of my brothers. Should be a nice day.I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart

No turkey, today though. Going the non traditional route (perfectly fine by me. Who says you have to eat turkey on Thanksgiving?)

If Sophie has never been on any other kind of food, you may want to be careful switching. If you do use the new food, mix a little in at a time with her current food. And if she's doing fine and you don't want to change foods, a local shelter would be very appreciative of a big bag of dog food.
