I'll believe it when I see it. IIRC, there were talks that he was going to step down the last 2 times his contract was expiring soon. Still, how much longer can he go on? I'd have to imagine 2012 is likely going to be his last year, given his age.

Very true. I'm hoping the owners go in a completely different direction than Bud. But I doubt they will - he's been great for business so they love the guy.

(But I think that's as much a result of the economics of sports in general changing and team owners being way more aggressive in finding new revenue streams as it is his policies.)

My guess is along with yours. I think the next guy will be much more hard line and honestly it would not shock me to see the streak of years without a work stoppage come to an end in 2012. I hope I'm wrong.
