It's a Perfect Day for a Parade in the City...Story and Pictures *More Pictures Added
Well, I headed into the city today at 430am cause I wanted a really good spot. I went with a few friends and we all decided that right across the street from city hall was the spot to be in. When we got there, there was a few people there, around 20 i guess. It was still dark out and it was cold but after my crappy experience at the giants parade, if I wanted to get close you had to be there early. And it totally paid off. For about 2 hours before the parade started, there was a toilet paper war. It was just crazy. Anyway, the parade itself was great. It seemed like it went on forever but it was really cool. I'm pretty sure a good deal of yankees and yankee stadium employees were on different floats because a lot of them had the "how may i help you" signs. I found it amazing that there were a lot of marching bands and most of the kids looked like they were having a crappy time. YOURE MARCHING IN THE YANKEES TICKER TAPE PARADE, I would have been thrilled. The players seemed to be in great spirits. I didnt really see too many guys sign any autographs but it was pretty cool to see the guys with their families on the floats.
Afterwards, the ceremony at city hall, nobody left the streets. It was PACKED. Shoulder to shoulder. Before the ceremony, there was a like a flash mob kinda thing in the street before city hall with everyone jumping up and down throwing confetti and stuff. It was just a really great experience and I cant wait to hopefully do it again next year. If anyone has any question, feel free to ask. In the meantime, enjoy the pictures I posted. If you guys want more, Ill post more. These were my top 20.
Please, if youre gonna use my photos for anything just give me credit and let me know.

this was that flash mob i was talking about

My favorite is the Matsui pic. He looks like he is just soaking it all in.

Great photos. Many thanks.
It's a pity there's not one of John Sterling looking on gloomily at this "singer" who claimed he was "the new Sinatra." That'll be the day.

I love this one! It could be a Christmas card. Of course the ones of the players are awesome but for one of just the ticker tape and the city buildings, this is great.
