I read the matchup would be Big East #4 vs. Big 12 #7. They'd be happy with Rutgers, UConn, or Syracuse. Odds are 1 of them will be bowl eligible and not taken by bowls higher up the food chain.

As an RU alum and a Yankees season ticket holder, the last place I want to go for a bowl game is Yankee Stadium. I like to travel to a destination (warm is nice in January) for a bowl game. That said, it's better than no bowl game, and if we didn't make a warm weather bowl, I would end up buying the ticket.

If the tickets aren't outrageous and if I would be in the area when it would be played (currently living in MA so NYC isn't exactly close), I might go once just to say that I did - but other than that I can't get too excited. Especially since it's the #4 Big East team (potentially not terrible) against the #7 Big 12 team (probably pretty bad).

And I still can't figure out why college football would want to have a bowl game at NYS when they could hold it at the new Meadowlands Stadium.

The last time there was a Bowl game in NY back in the 1960's it was a disaster. There is a reason Bowl games are held in the South. I doubt many people are going to want to see a college game between two low ranked teams in January. Afterall the top Big 12 and Big East FB teams will be playing in the major Bowl games.
