Mulder ??
MLBTR says the Yanks along with 4 other teams will watch Mark work out in 7-10 days ? Haven't we heard this for like 2 months now? He's WO with Rick Peterson in NJ this week.

Re: Mulder ??
Why the icon?
This is not a bad idea at all. A lefty with upside who wants to play for a contender.
Actually, this is a smart idea."Well guess what? He's dead. You just signed a dead guy." --pleasepassthesoup

Re: Mulder ??
Chances of this working out are low(see one Mr. Smoltz) but if it does, it would certainly beat throwing Mitre out there every fifth day.

Worth a shot.

He's 32 years old, so he should have some prime years left if healthy. Secondly, he's only thrown a grand total of about 170 innings the past 3 seasons.

I'd give him a look.

Re: Mulder ??
I'd love to see it work out because I like Mulder but I really doubt any good coming of this.

Re: Mulder ??
id take him. hes an upgrade over Mitre and Gaudin for sure if he's healthy. Maybe when the playoffs start he could be a LOOGY or long reliever out of the pen?

Re: Mulder ??
I wouldn't say that. I'd like to move him to relief for an a batter or two.

I'd be okay with this. I guess he's been working with Rick Peterson and thinks he's fixed his mechanics?
It couldn't hurt, I don't think.
EDIT: It DOES seem a little concerning that he's worked out for the Dodgers, Phils and Brewers, and that they've all said "no thanks"

Re: Mulder ??
Agreed. Mitre is the type who will always give up just enough runs to put the Yanks behind. Girardi's faith in him is disturbing, to say the least. I am all in favor of giving someone a tryout. At this point, Mitre is on par with Igawa and Weaver as far as his incompetency.
