If we're talking strictly offense, with no regards for position played, I have a lot of confidence in Teixeira in 2009. He seems to be getting better as the years go on and seems (I don't know that he actually is) to be fairly consistent.

Arod, because he'll be more protected in the lineup. Also, the media focus will be on CC, Burnett, and Tex, so hopefully he won't feel as much pressure and be able to relax and focus.

Have to go with ARod. Teixeira is a great hitter but his best years are only slightly better than ARod's subpar seasons. Teixeira has yet to show that he can put up the monster numbers of which ARod is capable.

Hopefully, Tex will play Gehrig to ARod's Ruth. Tex should hit behind ARod since you should never use your best hitter as protection for your second best hitter.

Perception at the end of the year may b that Tex did, esp if Arod has prolonged periods where his production falls off, and if Tex stays consistent all year long.

However, since it is an odd year, Arod won't have any slumps, rite?
