Zack Greinke

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe has heard that the Royals and Braves are in serious discussions about a trade that would swap Jeff Francoeur for Zack Greinke.
Surely we can do better than this, Franceour is a terrible return.

Re: Zack Greinke
better than melky or any other outfielder that has a low salary and high upside. grenike is nice, but a headcase and not worth giving up a big piece in our minors for.

I'd hope so. We should definitely be in on Greinke. I think this rumor is BS.

Re: Zack Greinke
I mentioned this in another thread - the Royals already have 4 OF's under contract and Greinke is an excellent pitcher. Why trade for another OF who is TERRIBLE??

Re: Zack Greinke
A headcase? He had a problem with social anxiety disorder, which he overcame. Unless you know something I don't, I don't think you have to worry about him being a "headcase".

Re: Zack Greinke
I thought this rumor got shot down by someone the other day, like Law or Olney. Francoeur is awful. If they want a cheap corner outfielder, I'd pay all of Nady's salary to get Greinke here. Even probably throw in Kennedy if they want to fill that rotation spot.

Social Anxiety Disorder is going to be more a problem in NY vs Kansas City

His problems weren't with crowds or pressure though.

He hasn't had a problem with this since he started taking medication.

Re: Zack Greinke
If the Royals are dangling Greinke for someone like Francoeur, we better be in on this.
First bailey, and now greinke. What are these teams thinking about trading them for mediocre or old talent.NYY Triforce

Re: Zack Greinke
I LOVE Greinke.
I'd give up A-jax easily for him.

Re: Zack Greinke
Yeah but I don't see KC giving us 2-years of Greinke for 1-year of Nady, you'd have to sweeten the pot considerably.

Re: Zack Greinke
Doubt that KC would be interested in Nady since he's a FA at season's end. Swisher, maybe.

A-jax + Kennedy? I think that might be ball park. A-jax would be their CF right about the time Coco comes off the books.

I'm fine with giving up Swisher instead.

Re: Zack Greinke
Considering the Franceaur rumors, I'm not so sure we'd have to even offer that much.

1: This has been debunked by both teams.
2: The current asking price on Greinke is 2 ML players and 2 can't miss prospects. This price will not be filled. Greinke will be a Royal come opening day.My writing can be found at It Is About The Money, Stupid. Come heckle me.

These guys want someone like Franceour. We got Nady or Swisher. Give them one of those guys.

Re: Zack Greinke
Unless it's Francoeur and one of the studs from the Peavy deal. Wouldn't surprise me if the writer involved (and I don't know who it is) thought Francoeur was the main piece of the deal because he's actually heard of him.

No.
A player with his HISTORY of anxiety would be questionable to say the least to bring him to NY.
Not to mention, he'd cost WAY more than Francouer. That's a BS rumor.

Only way I offer that is...
Kei Igawa, Cody Ransom (Hey, they didn't specify which two MLBers)
+
Humberto Sanchez, Chris Britton (Literally, you can't miss them)
