Re: Free Kei Igawa
jesus...
I have no association with "TEPLimey" at nomaas. Apparently a very disturbed individual likes to get their rocks off on pretending they are me. Sad, really.

Re: Free Kei Igawa
He's certainly no worse than Kennedy this calendar year.
And it appears he has more humility....

Re: Free Kei Igawa
This is not going to end well. Although I will say that Igawa has been getting the job done at SWB this year, but then again, so was Kennedy.
David Ortiz tested positive for performance enhancing drugs in 2003.

Re: Free Kei Igawa
The Yankees tried to get him back to Japan and they had no takers. He is the reason, Nomo has been employed by the Yankees, to avoid mistakes like this in the future.

Hey... if Jaret Wright can go 20-3 with a 3.02 ERA, Kei Igawa could too.

Time for the weekly "Bring up XXXX, no way he can be worse than XXXX". And then, shockingly, they are.

Is it bad that I actually forgot that Igawa has been on our team for almost 2 years now? He's the continuation of Carl Pavano after Pavano leaves.

Re: Free Kei Igawa
I don't know about that. He pretty much mimicked Ian Kennedy's sentiments last and this year.

I'm hoping he gives up on the major leagues and decides to go back to Japan this offseason forfeiting his remaining salary.

Re: Free Kei Igawa
True. Igawa's remarks after his last start for the Yankees were eerily similar to Ian's after Friday's game. At the time I chalked it up to the difficulties of translation, but maybe not.

"The result is part of baseball," Igawa said. "It could happen any day or any time. The next thing I would like to work on is getting more strikeouts with all of my pitches."

I don't know if this has been posted before, but:

I hope that the Yankees coaches are aware of this and are working with him on this problem.

Re: Free Kei Igawa
They would take him, Igawa just wouldn't get paid what he is getting now. He's said he wants to go back to Japan, if he is willing to give up the money he can do that. However I doubt that happens.
