True. Igawa's remarks after his last start for the Yankees were eerily similar to Ian's after Friday's game. At the time I chalked it up to the difficulties of translation, but maybe not.

Speaking through an interpreter, Igawa said that he thought his offspeed pitches were "pretty good," contrasting [with] Girardi's opinion. Saying that he is not a ground-ball pitcher, Igawa noted, "They were able to hit a lot of ground balls through the holes."

"The result is part of baseball," Igawa said. "It could happen any day or any time. The next thing I would like to work on is getting more strikeouts with all of my pitches."

They would take him, Igawa just wouldn't get paid what he is getting now. He's said he wants to go back to Japan, if he is willing to give up the money he can do that. However I doubt that happens.
