Re: The David Cone said what? Thread
He was singing "Call Me Maybe" in the booth today. You can't make tho stuff up! I'm SO glad he's in the Yankees' booth. One of a kind.

Re: The David Cone said what? Thread
I don't remember (sorry!), but I loved how Kay brought up how the Call Me Maybe reference got Cone to trend on Twitter in New York. Paulie and Kay then talked about how out of all the YES guys, Cone was the one most tuned into pop culture. One of them then said something to the extent of when Cone's sons get older, they're going to realize they have a cool dad with lots of stories to tell. Cone replied that he couldn't tell most of his stories, and either Kay or Paulie replied that at a certain age the kids will be able to use Google anyway.

Singleton (to Coney): What adjustments do you expect Ichiro to make coming over to the Yankees?
Coney (laughing as he speaks): He's got to adjust to playing on a first place team.
It may get lost in the translation, but it was funny to watch!

Re: The David Cone said what? Thread
I enjoy the mutual respect each has for the other's career and the pitcher vs. hitter banter that goes on. Two players who know the game beats dumb*** MK asking stupid questions all night that he already used the series before. The great thing is these two respect the game being played in front of them, even craptastic ones like the Anaheim disasters.

Re: The David Cone said what? Thread
Oh I think that may've been some of what we heard--I met an old friend on Sunday to watch the game at a bar and he was, like, WTF? This is my friend who works for the State Dept and lives overseas, so I had to explain that it was David Cone etc. and no one knows what he is talking about most of the time. So then he got into a whole 10 minute "HEY CONEY WHY DONT-CHOO HAVE A DANCE" spree...

as for Coney, I'm thinking it was more singing than talking but still not very good.
