Lately when I click on Play Today's Game as soon as the game comes up a pop up advertisement comes up at the same time. It is very disconcerting while I am trying to play the game as fast as I can. I know I have software to block pop ups so I don't get it! I wouldn't mind the pop up ad but not while I am being timed to play the game!

An ad pops up for me too (and I also have pop-up blocker on) but at least for me it pops up behind the window I have open for the trivia quiz. It is pretty annoying.

A little off topic but as those of us on this thread like trivia, have you all checked out Sporcle? They have about 4 new trivia quizzes each day on any number of topics. There are thousands of existing quizzes there. Positively addicting.

An ad pops up for me too (and I also have pop-up blocker on) but at least for me it pops up behind the window I have open for the trivia quiz. It is pretty annoying.

Since I make the window of the game as small as I can in order to scroll up faster the window pops up next to the game window on my computer with most of it sticking out. I find it really distracting. Do they really think we are going to read these ads while we are being timed doing a puzzle?

Here's one other thing you can do:
Instead of immediately clicking on "Play Today's Game" from the main page, click on one of the other options, "Standings", "Awards", "Link Up", etc. The ad will pop-up when you click on one of these, you can then close it, click on "Main" and then take the quiz for the day.

My pet peeve on the music questions is that they ask questions about chords and such which are really questions for actual musicians, not music trivia. I know nothing about that but a lot about music trivia. Whenever they ask me a question for musicians I get them wrong unless I guess right. Those type of questions are not in every quiz but I don't think they can be considered music trivia. That is just my opinion.
