It didn't take long for Nick Swisher to shed his New York groove once he signed his four-year, $56 million deal with the Indians a couple of days before Christmas.
Swisher, who was in Jersey City Friday to visit the Boys & Girls Club of Hudson County to help rebuild the club's music program that lost instruments and equipment in Hurricane Sandy, said from that day forward he was no longer a Yankee.
"Signing day, press conference day, I guess," Swisher said. "This place will always be close to my heart. It was amazing for me to be able to spend four years here, the fans, the city, to be able to win the World Series. This place has been amazing to me and I can't thank them enough."
Now Swisher has gone home again and the Ohio State alum said he is really looking forward to what he can provide for a young Indians team.
"I'm excited, man, I really am," Swisher said. "To have that opportunity, to have that Buckeye pride a little bit."
Swisher said he wasn't quite sure if he had played his final game in pinstripes when the Yankees were swept by the Tigers in the ALCS. But he said now that he is an ex-Yankee, he only has fond memories of his time in the Bronx.

Feliciano technically hasnt been a Yankee. Not a single out recorded
The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

Re: The Former Yankee Performance Thread v4.0
some things never truly change.Free-agent right-hander Carl Pavano doesn’t figure to be signing with a new team anytime soon.
Pavano, 37, recently suffered a ruptured spleen that will sideline him for 6 to 8 weeks, according to major-league sources. The injury occurred when slipped and fell while shoveling snow on his driveway in Vermont, one source said.

Shoveling snow? WTF is wrong with this guy? All that money and he doesn't have a service?
Dopey.Welcome to NYYFans, the place where Yankees fans come together to complain about the manner in which our team is winning games.

Personally, I still attribute this downward spiral to Alyssa Milano.
Think about it from American Idle's perspective.
You're born with enough natural talent to make the big leagues. You work hard to get there and enjoy some success. Next thing you know, you win a World Series, you're making tons of money and are dating one of the most beautiful women ever.
You've reached the top of Everest.
There is no point in putting forth any effort in trying to better yourself. Not gonna happen. Can't happen. In some ways, I don't blame Carl for sitting around with his thumb up his ass. He had nothing left to accomplish.

Who ruptures a spleen shoveling snow? My granddad was shoveling snow well into his 80s. Did he stab himself with the shovel? Honestly I really think he should just retire. It's clear that he really wants the $$$ but not the pressure of having to perform as a pitcher. Let's just call it a day. Time to hang up the mitt and cleats.
