According to the baseball-reference Play Index, his game score of -13 is tied for the 19th worst since 1918. That's the only game since 1918 with a game score of -13 or worse in fewer than 3 innings. It's tied for the third most earned runs allowed in an appearance of fewer than 3 innings.

In fairness, a ton of that is on the manager. Who leaves a guy in to give up that many?

Interestingly enough after Humber was beaten up, Jose Quintana came in.

    5.2 Innings 0 ER 3 K's and 2 bb.

The real reason why the Yankees keep winning is cause the other team can't stop staring at the damn pinstripes

Or it could be a difference in the cultural REACTION to cheating on one's wife.

I've heard that in Europe, cheating on one's wife isn't really frowned upon. Look at DSK last year.

I think that El Duque didn't like working with Posada either.

Posada didn't catch in 2011, so I pretty much consider that to be a moot point.

Look at Moose and A-Rod. Moose wanted Alex as the DH whenever he pitched, due to some errors.

Watched Brian Bruney close a game for the Charlotte Knights (White Sox AAA) last night in Charlotte. Stuff seemed pretty good- was sitting first base line so I couldn't see the motion as well as velocity

    I'm quite happy about this

I remember some media reports last year about how after his terrible season in Atlanta he got a come to Jesus talk from A-Rod and revamped his whole approach

I was happy to see him do well in KC, but thought maybe it was a fluke, and SF is a notoriously tougher place for hitters.....

Really glad to see him get off to a good start this season

I still think he's perfectly capable of a three-month stretch where he hits .211.

Wasn't there a storyline last year about Alex lobbying for the Yankees to resign Melky prior to 2011? We all scoffed at that proposition then, but in hindsight....

He's a FA after this year. But that would probably require dumping Swisher...which would be pointless.
