Getting traded to the Pirates was an ideal situation for him.

I'm also glad to hear he's apparently all recovered from that little contretemps when he bunted a ball into his own face.

I really do wish A.J. well with the Pirates. Frustrating as all get out to watch him pitch for the Yankees, but he seems like a nice guy.

Thanks for the Burnett update. I snagged him onto my fantasy team.

Nick Johnson is 0-23 with 1 walk. Might be time to hang it up.

Good for AJ. I wish him nothing but the best unless he is facing us.

Let me tell ya, I am happy for him.
He took the ball every time for us and gave it his best, and helped us win a world title.

Some people put AJ in the Pavano territory, but not for me, I wish him well all the way..

Im certainly not hoping he fails per se. Yes he contributed in '09 and even as bad as he was last year he made an important start against the Tigers in the ALDS.

But I don't get the warm fuzzy to be honest. He had some traits I wasn't crazy about, including but not limited to: showing up Girardi during pitching changes more than once, punching a plexiglass window with his pitching hand, not working well with Posada, etc

To be fair, AJ is not the only pitcher to ever have issues working with Posada. And no pitcher in the history of baseball has ever been happy about being taken out of a game.

I'm glad AJ was able to get the win

If they ask who was our star, give them 25 names, and if you forget our names, just tell them we were Yankees.

If you feel that strongly, you can make a link.

Going into today there were six pitchers with at least 10 innings and no earned runs allowed. One of them was Ayala.
