Pettitte scratched from starting today
Andy Pettitte has been scratched from today's start because of minor muscle irritation in his left arm.
The Yankees ay it is not serious and Andy should make his next start and will be available as normal for the start of the regular season..
Well, while the Yankees are downplaying it, a left handed pitcher with pain in his left arm scares the living you know what out of me..I used to think I was crazy... Now I am sure of it..

Re: Pettitte scratched from starting today
http://weblogs.newsday.com/sports/ba.../yankees/blog/Manager Joe Girardi heavily emphasized that the ailment is minor. Pettitte is not being sent for any tests, and Girardi said he would start if it were the regular season. In fact, Pettitte pushed to make the start Wednesday against the Rays.
"They're extremely cautious here, and I guess it's a good thing," Pettitte said.
We still have 2 1/2 weeks till the opener.

Very true. But after last year, I can understand someone being uneasy

I know the team is saying it is no big deal, but I a little freaked out about it to say the least.I used to think I was crazy... Now I am sure of it..

Yup. The first thought that popped into my head when I saw the thread title was s***! Here we go again--and he was behind to begin with. Girardi's comments make me feel better, kind of...nothing like a paranoid Yankee fanatic. Now pardon me, I have to take a Xanax and close my office door for an hour...

This should not be much of a concern I don't think.

Spring training... I'm sure they're not pushing anything they don't have to. So, I'll worry about it when I have to start worry about it.

It's hard for me to tell if Pettitte's telling the truth for some reason....

Re: Pettitte scratched from starting today
Hm...now that I think about it - aren't we facing the Rays today?
Perhaps we need some scrub pitcher to...ahem..."take care of some business"

Re: Pettitte scratched from starting today
He has had elbow problems going back to 95, anyone think that the Yanks are holding him back b/c they are playing the Devil Rays after what happened on Sat?

Re: Pettitte scratched from starting today
This is another reason why the "kiddie corp" will be so important this year to yankee success. It'll be interesting to see just how minor Andy's injury is.

Re: Pettitte scratched from starting today
Rather than deal with Beane, I'd sign Lohse - unless the injury is a LOT more severe than we're hearing

Joe G says it's minor; Andy says it's minor: I believe them

1.He's not getting any younger
2. It's ST, why risk it?
3. Why would Girardi/Andy lie?
