Andy Pettitte has been scratched from today's start because of minor muscle irritation in his left arm.
The Yankees ay it is not serious and Andy should make his next start and will be available as normal for the start of the regular season..

Well, while the Yankees are downplaying it, a left handed pitcher with pain in his left arm scares the living you know what out of me..

Manager Joe Girardi heavily emphasized that the ailment is minor. Pettitte is not being sent for any tests, and Girardi said he would start if it were the regular season. In fact, Pettitte pushed to make the start Wednesday against the Rays.

"They're extremely cautious here, and I guess it's a good thing," Pettitte said.

This is one of the two guys we are looking to get 200 innings from and he was already a bit behind when camp opened. For him to miss anyy time at all is a really bad thing, and he is no spring chicken, and has had some arm problems in the past..

I know the team is saying it is no big deal, but I a little freaked out about it to say the least.

Yup. The first thought that popped into my head when I saw the thread title was s***! Here we go again--and he was behind to begin with. Girardi's comments make me feel better, kind of...nothing like a paranoid Yankee fanatic. Now pardon me, I have to take a Xanax and close my office door for an hour...

This is another reason why the "kiddie corp" will be so important this year to yankee success. It'll be interesting to see just how minor Andy's injury is.
