Hank drops the Hammer on RSN
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3271124
"Red Sox Nation?" What a bunch of [expletive] that is," he said in an interview with The New York Times' Play magazine. "That was a creation of the Red Sox and ESPN, which is filled with Red Sox fans.
"Go anywhere in America and you won't see Red Sox hats and jackets, you'll see Yankee hats and jackets. This is a Yankee country. We're going to put the Yankees back on top and restore the universe to order.""We understand that John Henry must be embarrassed, frustrated and disappointed by his failure in this transaction. Unlike the Yankees, he chose not to go the extra distance for his fans in Boston. It is understandable, but wrong that he would try to deflect the accountability for his mistakes on to others and to a system for which he voted in favor. It is time to get on with life and forget the sour grapes."

He reminds me of a young george. Unfortunately, I don't know if that's good or bad.

Re: Hank drops the Hammer on RSN
Mabye not the best way to put it but HELL YEAH. This is Yankee Country!
There are many reasons why the Yankees have won so much since 1995, but this is above all others: They have Mariano Rivera and no one else does.

Re: Hank drops the Hammer on RSN
He's right about ESPN being a Red Sox hotbed but the term "Red Sox Nation" wasn't meant to imply that most of the country loves the Red Sox, it's meant to refer specifically to those people who root for the Sox.
Hank talks a lot for a guy who's never really accomplished anything.Rocking that "arrogant Yankee fan" attitude.

Nail on the big fat egomaniacal head! ***News flash***,Hank (rolls eyes) The Sox have won two W.S. in the last four years! What exactly have you done? STFU and build us a winner, then you can run your big fat obnoxious mouth all you want.

Re: Hank drops the Hammer on RSN
Exactly. I especially like the part where he takes another shot at Joe Torre, saying he was "handed" a winning team. If the Yankees win it all this year, with a team that was handed to Hank, I wonder what he'll be saying about his own accomplishments.

Re: Hank drops the Hammer on RSN
Hanks comment on the red sox was great, finally someone stands up and points out the obvious. espn and this "red sox nation" crap is a complete steal from the term "raider nation".

Although I admit Hank is a person who was born on third and thinks he hit a triple kind of guy, I do love this quote!

Like father, like son.
George talked a whole bunch of crap before he ever won anything too.
I think it's funny. I love it when the owners talk crap.2012 - The Year of the Big Boys

Re: Hank drops the Hammer on RSN
The fire, the life had gone out of the Yankees.
They had become doormats in many ways.
It's looking like that old fire may be back. I love it.I don't like country music, but I don't mean to denigrate those who do. And for the people who like country music, denigrate means 'put down.'- Bob Newhart
