Weak bracket that one of these guys actually will make the Sweet Sixteen. I don't know. Murcer never won anything, but Cash kinda rode Gene Michael's and Bob Watson's coattails the first couple years he was GM (in that he didn't have to do much with the team they cultivated to make it win).

That's saying something, since Murcer has become the Yankees best broadcaster by default. Murcer and Singleton are the only ones who don't annoy the crap out of me, and that's only because Singleton knows how to keep his mouth shut.

Murcer (who I loved as a player and think the world of as a human) is an awful broadcaster. He has trouble getting a thought out. He stumbles over his words.

He was totally unlistenable when he first began (every sentence had the phrase "check that" in it). He's made great strides since then, but he's still far from adequate.


All in my opinion, of course.
