    Ear Infection question

This is Jenn posting under Dave's name because I have an ear infection and it's killing me. Anyway my question for you all is do you know if heat is good or bad for an ear infection. When I was a little girl I had frequent ear infections and my mom would always lie me on a heating pad. I think that I heard from someone that may be the wrong thing to do. Does anyone know?

Dave went down to Kroger at this time of the night to get some peroxide for it. Bless his heart. I'm going to lie back down for now because this really hurts and it's even making me throw up. I'll check back in and will appreciate any advice you all can give me.

    Thanks

If its the inner ear and it probably is then peroxide wont do much. You need an antibiotic from a MD

I Googled and couldn't come up with much about pain relief treatments.

You need to see the doctor.

I triple the doctor recommendation and make sure that it is a specialist in ears. If you have one call your primary care physician and ask for a recommendation for an ear specialist.
    Above all don't fly.
I have been plagued over the last seven years with chronic ear infections and it is no fun. I have the beginnings of one now and I am flying to Miami Saturday for a one week's fishing vacation in the keys. I dread the flight, but I won't give up the fishing trip because of some hopefully, minor pain.

See an ear doctor. Don't fool with it. Don't try home remedies

Why not go to a doctor and get an antibiotic?

    Re: Ear Infection question

I second the notion that you should go to the doctor. I just had an ear infection a few weeks ago and the only way to get rid of it is to get antibiotics.

In the meantime, you could try to look on WebMD to see if there is anything you can do for relief.

    Andy,
You have got to get "Ear Planes" They relieve ear discomfort, popping & pain while flying.....I can't fly without them. Most larger drug stores carry them.

Get you tonsils and adenoids removed. I had them out when I was 8 and haven't had an ear infection since.

    Re: Ear Infection question

Recently I had what I thought was a really bad ear infection. I went to the doctors and it turned out my ears were fine, I ended up having a sinus infection. Defintely go to the doctors.

    Re: Ear Infection question

Definitely go the doctor. Last year I had one that ended rupturing my eardrum and I feel like my hearing has never come back 100% in that ear. After going to the Dr and getting antibiotics I did use a heating pad to help w/the pain though.

Seconded. I usually feel like I am having a ruptured aneurism in my head when I fly. Serious shooting pain and I start tearing and want to cry. Ear Planes and a couple Benadryl do the trick.

    Ovatko korvasi kipeät lentäessäsi?

    UUTUUS!!!
