Dont throw it back? Mets fan ejected for tossing back Cubs HR ball
http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseb...sfan08.article
I have always wanted to do that against the home team whenever I go to Yankee road games and happen to be sitting in a bleacher area.Saturday MLB on FOX blackouts - If you don't know how to spoof your IP address, you are missing out on the fun.

Re: Dont throw it back? Mets fan ejected for tossing back Cubs HR ball
I thought about throwing play money when at a Yankees/M's game at Safeco (like they do when A-Rod bats) when Sexon or Beltre came up to bat, but guarantee I would get ejected.

aww can't handle a little mocking? It's a stupid tradition I'd mock it too. I can tell you right now if I caught a home run ball in Yankee Stadium hit by someone like Vlad I'd keep it because it's a cool thing to have.

I'm with you. If I was lucky enough to snatch a home run ball, there's no way I'm tossing it back.

Me too. Some fans are so dumb. Cracks me up when Sox fans throw A Rods homerun balls back. You know most of them secretly want to keep it.

Re: Dont throw it back? Mets fan ejected for tossing back Cubs HR ball
I can tell you that if the right player hits it, even a foul ball would mean something to me. I'm not usually one to go crazy for foul balls, in fact it would probably need to be hit right to me for me to put alot of effort into it. But that depends on who pitched/hit the ball. If I'm at a Twins/Yanks game and Jeter fouls a ball ofF Santana, I'm going nuts for that one.
Everything depends on the player involved with the ball. So a home run in Yankee Stadium hit by an opposing all star is going in my collection, not on the field. The entire stadium can boo me and I won't be phased at all.NYYFans Fantasy Baseball

Everytime a Mets fan is ejected I smile.

Re: Dont throw it back? Mets fan ejected for tossing back Cubs HR ball
Mets fans seem to be popular with home run balls this week.
Now if only one of us caught A-Rod's 500th...

Should have kept the ball then try to get A-Rod to sign it.

For sure. I'd try to spin it off for some cash, unless it was a NYY homer.

Re: Dont throw it back? Mets fan ejected for tossing back Cubs HR ball
Question: When a fan sitting in the first row reaches over for a foul ground ball and accidentally falls onto the field, does he automatically get ejected? If it's not intentional, then I don't think he should be ejected. Unfortunately some stadiums probably have a no tolerance policy on this issue.
Also, I'm wondering if a fan has ever sued a team for a "wrongful ejection". Like if somebody else commited the wrongdoing, and security threw out the wrong guy."They're going to send me back to Omaha, and I don't even live there." - Rube Baker

I would never throw a HR ball back if I were lucky enough to catch one.
