My Uncle

My uncle just turned 47 and is fighting for his life, he has Acute Respiratory syndrome and pancreatitis. I was just on vacation and visited him for 2 weeks in Florida and he seemed fine, so this is hitting me like a ton of bricks. I just got off the phone with his wife and he has a 50/50 chance to live. Sorry for posting this, i just needed to vent, this place has been good to me over the years, letting me cry out so to speak.

Just looked it up...it's SARS?? Didn't know that's what the letters stood for.

From what's been described, I think it's Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome brought on by the pancreatitis. In contrast SARS is caused by a virus.

Rch pancreatitis is very treatable, the ARS is a complication from the ventilator. If he's strong he should do ok. I'll be sending some prayers. Hang on to hope, and the skill of those taking care of him...

Thank you everyone, so far he is still fighting.. He is breathing at 35% on his own, his blood pressure is through the roof...im praying more then i ever have...Thanks so much for the kind words!

He isnt awake, he is in induced coma, bc he was trying to fight the doctors, wasnt sure where he was.
