My Uncle
My uncle just turned 47 and is fighting for his life, he has Acute Respiratory syndrome and pancreatitis. I was just on vacation and visited him for 2 weeks in Florida and he seemed fine, so this is hitting me like a ton of bricks. I just got off the phone with his wife and he has a 50/50 chance to live. Sorry for posting this, i just needed to vent, this place has been good to me over the years, letting me cry out so to speak.

Re: My Uncle
From what's been described, I think it's Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome brought on by the pancreatitis. In contrast SARS is caused by a virus.

Rich, my strongest hopes and wishes go out to your uncle, your family and yourself on this. You've had quite a few series of unfortunate events in your life, and I'm hoping that your uncle pulls out of this in good health and spirit.
