These few moments are like when you're on a roller coaster and you have that moment of stillness right before the big drop. We're in the stillness people.

Re: 2007 MLB Draft
If the Yanks take Porcello, it is going to be a major headache as per signing. Not saying it isn't a great idea....but they'll be facing SIGNIFICANT pressure from both sides- Porcello's in terms of not losing out on your only pick in the beginning of the draft to college, and MLB in terms of slotting.

Tigers take Borbon, that's my guess.

Re: 2007 MLB Draft
This is true. And Porcello himself will be in a pressure cooker, its like an Eli Manning thing (not that bad, but you get the idea)

Selig can stick it. If they draft him, they will do it knowing his price.

Re: 2007 MLB Draft
No problem. Write the check for 10 million bucks, sign it, and tell Selig to go cry somewhere else.

Re: 2007 MLB Draft
From what I've heard, teams usually don't take players unless they plan on making an honest offer so they don't piss off players/agents and other teams. I don't think they'll take him if he's available but who knows.

You're right about the Boras factor - but George loves to stick it to Bud. It probably means the Yankees announce the signing on August 14th...

Re: 2007 MLB Draft
I dont think the Yankees are worried about the pressure from MLB for slotting it has never stopped them before so I dont see it being a concern now.

Even if they were going to draft based on need, what's wrong with Carlos Guillen?
