The view from Chicago - June 6th edition
Sun Times
He can't reach century mark
History and the New York Yankees go hand in hand, but usually the history recounts success. This season, the Yankees are recording different kinds of history as they try to climb out of a sub-.500 hole, a mountain of injuries and the burden of expectations.

Sox pitcher still has troubles with 100th win
It has been six weeks since Mark Buehrle won his last game, an astonishing development that became more curious Tuesday in a loss to the Yankees.

Ozzie: 'Buckle up and pray'
Just like so many other things this season, Mark Buehrle's quest for the Holy Grail -- or, in this case, his 100th career win -- isn't sparking the White Sox. Including Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the New York Yankees at U.S. Cellular Field, the left-hander has failed in his last seven starts to earn the milestone win.

Funny how a World Series can peak interest, and then suddenly, a few years later...

Yikes. I think the Yanks should be concerned too! Aren't they supposed to be this touring circus troupe?

Um, I didn't mean a foul ball to your section. We clear on that, right? A victory fit for the Yankees! (Sorry, ChiSox!)

Thanks all... I am in good foul ball territory tonight so I will take the souvenir, but will be more than happy with a resounding Yankee win...

In the city itself the White Sox are pretty much even with the Cubs..but The Cubs own the wealthy northern burbs and draw from downstate and Iowa.

Plus the White Sox have a tier pricing system and charge more for Yankees and Boston games and even more for Cubs.

For whatever reason Boston is usually the toughest ticket after the Cubs.

Yep, I know all about the Cubs draw from Iowa... that's where I'm from, and I'm back home from school here for the summer... I can count the people I know who are Sox fans on one hand, but Cubs fans, that's another story... of course, Des Moines is the AAA home of the Cubs, so I'm sure that helps the Cubs to an extent...

The White Sox don't have a minor league team within 700 miles of Chicago.

You would think they would want a team in the Midwest League but....

That was a year ago tonight? I was in my seat at the Stadium for that one. Best catch I've ever seen in my life.

There is an incredible selection of tickets for tonight on Craigslist, much of which is below face value. This is sort of depressing, but also nice, because now I can treat myself and several friends. Last season I was there for Wang's start, which they ended up losing in the 10th. Hopefully tonight will be a better result.
