The most over rated YANKEES player of all time IMHO is a 3rd baseman
by the name of Rich McKinney.
What's that? You say you never heard of Rich McKinney? Well this was going to be the BIG one, a trade that would help bring the YANKEES back from the depths. On Dec. 2, 1971 the Chi White Sox traded Rich to the YANKEES for right handed starter Stan Bahnsen. After consecutive 14 win seasons for the
YANKEES he promptly won 21 games for the pale hose, while McKinney
played 37 games TOTAL for the YANKEES. The fact that most of you probably never heard of McKinney is
testament to his being over rated.
