Clint Barmes breaks collarbone carrying groceries - out 3 months
Parking lot of a grocery store - Grocery shopping did something that major league pitching has yet to do this season - got the better of Clint H. Barmes. The combination of walking, pavement, and bags of fresh groceries proved too much for the Lumberjacks young star shortstop. Barmes took a nasty tumble, resulting in spilled mlk, crushed eggs, and a broken collarbone. The injury will sideline the Colorado rookie for at least 3 months.
Barmes was one of baseball's great surprises this year. His batting average hit .417 as late as May 1st, thanks to a blistering April in which he accumulated 34 hits, including 10 multi-hit games. Barmes was one of only 3 rookies to ever hit over .400 in April. At the time of his injury, Barmes was heating up again after a slight slump in late May. He was at .329, with 8 homers, 34 RBI and 40 runs. Clint's projected stats as of yesterday were extremely impressive: .320, 23 homers, 100 RBI, 117 runs, and 217 hits. The fall of Barmes really hurts the Lumberjacks, as he was the 12 highest offensive scorer this year. "This really hurts our team. Clint was a top scorer, week in, week out. He's a great young ballplayer, and this team is going to miss him. That being said - HOLY HELL! How do you bust a collarbone in a grocery accident?! Good Lord! You pummel ML pitching for 2 months, and fall victim to bags of groceries? At LEAST cut your finger on a bra strap!" Fumed and obviously frustrated Jason, Lumberjacks' GM. Omar Vizquel, the subject of season-long trade rumors will step in at SS for the 'Jacks. Teams of doctors were called in to surgically remove Vizquel from the bench, as his body had slowly fused to it over the course of the season. |

Clint Barmes - SS - Rockies
Clint Barmes clarified how he broke his collarbone yesterday. He originally said that he was carrying groceries but clarified yesterday that he was carrying deer meat given to him by Todd Helton when he tripped and fell on the stairs. It also has surfaced that he was riding four-wheeled ATV's on Helton's property the same day he suffered the injury, but is adamant that the ATV had nothing to do with his injury. Regardless of how he was injured, he's going to miss around three months of the season. Jun. 9 - 8:36 am et Barmes injures himself and then lies to cover it up. Oh the lies! THE LIES! Colorado should cut him immediately - is this the kind of person you would want to represent your city in MLB? THE LIES!!!!!!!! |

Re: Clint Barmes breaks collarbone carrying groceries - out 3 months
The Lumberjacks are standing by their shortstop. If he says he broke his collarbone carrying deer meat, then we have to believe that is what has happened. We apologize for Mr. Barmes changing his original story, but stand by him through this difficult time. Thank you.
