I laughed. agree with the first part, but don't really view it as a consequence. There was no really good long term solution available,
^ This. The only way they were getting Youkilis on a one year deal was to overpay. Another consequence of the $189 million in 2014 or bust plan.
I think that was the point. They don't feel they can just take a bridge year, so they sign older guys to short term contracts to try to get through this
