  4. Sticky Thread Sticky: Poll: NYYFans.Com Fantasy Baseball League Constitution

It took a lot of work, and I consulted with several people here (including the commissioners) but attached here is a copy of what I hope will become our League Constitution. It incorporates all our rules and procedures, and I hope I didn't leave anything out. If you can think of anything that I got wrong, or left out, please post it in this thread. I'd like to pass this now, rather than during the off-season, so hopefully all the owners will get a chance to look at it. According to...

  5. Sticky Thread Sticky: The Schedule Formula

This is the formula for the schedule for a 20 team, 4 division league in which each team plays division opponents twice and all other teams once. First, teams need to be grouped by division and numbered, 1 through 5 in each division and 1 through 20 for the entire league. Other than that it's not essential that you put them in any particular order, but listing them by the order of last year's finish helps assure that teams won't end up playing each other in the same weeks each year....

  1. Week 17 Thread: Separating the Miko from the chaff

Somebody needs to put a stop to Miko and his 10 game win streak. Are the Swingers up to the task? Following behind are the Jalapenos with a 7 game win streak, taking on the Wolvies, who also have 7 wins, but 9 losses. A 3 game losing streak for the Jason "I told you to trade me those players" Lumberjacks leaves the DiMaggio division now tied at 10-6 with Boras. The Jacks have a shot against the 6-10 RoYanks, while the Holdouts have to fight against the 9-7 Woodies. Meanwhile, the Force...

  3. Week 16: I dunno, it seems unfair to call this a week

3 games only for everyone. Do we do a full week or does this roll into next week? Anyway, some races tightened and some loosened. Steve lost. The Jacks lost. So that's good. Miko won, so that's not good. Somehow my team has managed not only 2 wins a row, but also the highest points in the league this week! I'm going to count that as a win. Go vote in the polls.

  4. Poll: Poll v. 2: What should the new waiver period be?

A majority of the league has voted and the results were that we should reduce the waiver period. This poll is to determine what we should reduce it to. Please discuss your reasoning so others may benefit from it. Thank you. I am in favor of reducing the waiver period to 24 hours because it allows people to change their minds reasonably and still have players available to others before rosters lock. Frankly, I'm not even sure why we have waivers, but there you are.

Please discuss your reasoning so others may benefit from it. Thank you. I am in favor of reducing the trade period to 48 hours because it allows people to set their rosters in a reasonable time frame and yet enough time for league members to review and object. This also allows for weekend deals to effect the upcoming scoring period.

  6. Week 15 thread: Watch your back

Some teams are making a run and some teams are falling further behind. Same old stuff, actually. Of all the divisions, Mantle is locked in a tight race with only one team under .500. We should also all recognize the Miko, whose team has been on an amazing 8 week winning streak. But that's about it. He's going down this week.

  15. Week 13 Thread: Maybe it's time to bring back steroids

I'd say unlucky 13, but this season has been horrible from the start. Some teams are shutting down, while others are making a push for the playoffs. You know, generic nonsense. If someone can post standings or whatnot that'd be great.

  16. Longnames/Marauders Part II

Don't hate. We swap Papelbon, Lynn and Appel for Aybar, Cecchini and Peavy. These are players we talked about yesterday in our marathon session of horsetrading and wanted to include them, but could never get around to making a 6 player deal and then we slept on it and the LongNames couldn't resist the opportunity to get a top 5 SS with great keeper potential in Aybar and a top 3B prospect in Cecchini in exchange for a good closer, a really frustrating SP who puts up points and a top...

  18. Canadian teams swap players

The RoY acquire Mark Appel Chase Anderson The RoY give up Corey Kluber Despite Appel's recent minor league struggles, the Romanian Yankees still believe in last year's number 1 pick. They also bring in a solid major league starter in Anderson, who has had a great rookie year so far. In exchange, they give up one of the staples of their rotation, Corey Kluber - almost unkeepable however for next year.
