Forum: Around The Majors

Post anything related to baseball. If it doesn't fit in the Yankees Discussion forum, it fits here.

  1. Steroids found in over-the-counter supplements

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=3956728&page=1 This is a pretty huge deal, in light of the Mitchell report coming out any day now. If this is true, I think a lot of baseball players who might have been tainted with the steroid brush through positive tests may have a real legitimate excuse. Fact is, the testing policy needs to be open and transparent before MLB goes on witch hunts lke they are currently doing. For example, suppose someone like Palmeiro was telling the truth and...

  3. The Official "Where will Miguel Cabrera end up?" Thread

Ridiculous... Clayton Kershaw has Johan Santana type potential, Andy LaRoche could post a .290/.380/.480 line as soon as next year and Matt Kemp is a 5-tool OF with loads of potential, they would be crazy to trade all three for Cabrera. EDIT: Here's my 2010 Marlins team if this trade goes down: Lineup: Hanley Ramirez SS Dan Uggla 2B

  4. Minor trades.

I figure there should be a thread for minor not big trades such as the newest one being reported by ESPN. Carlos Quentin of the DBacks for Chicago White Sox minor league 1b Chris Carter? I thought Quentin was some stud that we should only dream of coming back in the RJ trade. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3140420

  10. Rays announce new stadium

This looks very strange Rays re-imagine downtown St. Pete A modernistic, open-air ballpark with views of the bay and, yes, a sail. A makeover of the Tropicana Field site with affordable housing, retail stores and 14 acres of parkland. All of it, the Rays owners promise, with no new taxes. Romano: Intriguing, and a long way to reality

  12. Andy Marte: Bigger bust than Dolly Parton

Remember all the hype around this guy, and how his minor league numbers would translate to the major leagues? It's no wonder why the Braves dumped this guy when he was at his peak. Even the Red Sox recognized it.

  13. Report: Twins to acquire Young from Rays

--Rotoworld. Pretty big trade. Twins get a young hitter with huge potential, and Rays add a potentially big arm to add with Kazmir and Sheilds. Good trade for both sides.

  16. Torrealba back to the Rock Pile

In an a climatctic, stunning, improbable, surprising, astonishing, giddy, fruitless, turn of events. The once reported "new catcher" of the other team in NY (Mets) is now heading back to where he played last season. Torrealba was very close to joining the mets but a deal was never finalized. The mets later aquired Estrada from the tv show CHIPS, actually the brewers, which prompted Yorvit to resign with the Colorado Rockies. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3133100
