Post anything related to baseball. If it doesn't fit in the Yankees Discussion forum, it fits here.

  1. Vizcaino to Brewers 2y/$7 million

Luis Vizcaino signed a two-year, $7 million deal with Milwaukee. For The Viz, the Brewers will be his fifth team in the last five years. Itíll be interesting to see whether LaTroy Hawkins or Vizcaino has a better season. I canít seeing giving Vizcaino $7 million after all those appearances last season. per abraham so what pick do we get.

  7. Prior now a Free Agent

I'd like to see the Yanks sign him and take a shot at him coming back... thoughts? He'd probably be relatively inexpensive, I mean the Cubs didn't want to give him 3.25 Million, and it could be a high reward situation...

  9. 2008 MLB Off-Season Thread

I figured it'd be alright to make a fresh thread for the off-season for the MLB teams other than the Yankees. In this thread, post trades, free agent signings, rumors, etc for all teams other than our Yankees. 10/29/07: Braves trade Shortstop Edgar Rentertia to Tigers for Outfielder Gorkys Hernandez and RHP Jair Jurrjens http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20071029&content_id=2287279&vkey=pr_atl&fext=.jsp&c_id=atl

  15. A's prepared to sign Bonds

"There is no doubt in my mind that Oakland will sign Bonds," one major-league executive said Thursday as the winter meetings wound down. "I'd be shocked if it didn't happen." Two other teams also have expressed interest in Bonds, an industry source said. Bonds is most likely a fit for an American League club, so that he could serve as a designated hitter. The A's, though, apparently have told Bonds that if he signs with them, he would appear in left field with some frequency. The home run...

  16. The real problem with baseball payrolls

So.... Jason Stark was on Mike and Mike this morning to discuss the Cabrera trade and brought up a horrifying statistic imo. The Florida Marlins franchise brings in between $60 and $70 million in revenue before they sell a single ticket, hot dog, etc. at their stadium each year. That money comes from revenue sharing, the baseball fund, tv deals, etc. So what is their projected payroll next year? $8 million. Total. Their highest paid player is projected to be their closer who makes...

  17. If you had a team ... would you sign Bonds?

Really. If you were rolling in dough ... and had the good fortune to be able to own a Major League baseball club ... would you really wanna sign the kind of baggage onto your team that comes along with the whole Barry package? :-shrug-: I wouldn't touch it.
