  7. 2013 David Adams Performance Thread

    If he plays today he will be the 30th player since 1916 to make his MLB debut on his birthday. I found players who had at least 1 batter faced or 1 plate appearance, so if a player made his MLB debut in the field without having either of those he isn't included. He would be the first Yankee since 1916 to make his MLB debut on his birthday. Robert Manuel was the last player to make his MLB debut on his birthday which he did on July 9, 2009 with Cincinnati.

    He got promoted to MLB. http://www.milb.com/milb/stats/stats.jsp?sid=milb&t=p_pbp&pid=502011 has his minor league statistics. According to baseball-reference, there have been two players named Claiborne before but neither used that name. Claiborne Henry Bryant, who played from 1935 to 1940, called himself Clay. Active pitcher Daniel Hudson, who is injured, has the middle name Claiborne.
