  6. Killer B's Dead- Betances demoted to the bullpen

Most of us saw this one coming... http://itsaboutthemoney.net/archives/2013/05/10/report-betances-to-the-pen/ I think it is a good move. He shows flashes of plus stuff and I can envision him becoming a reliable tool out of the bullpen. He is not cut out to be a starter, unfortunately. Hopefully Banuelos recovers well and turns into 'something' of value for us.

  8. April 2013 Minor League Thread

Opening day for minor league teams is on the 4th. So perhaps whilst we're waiting till then we can discuss which hitter and pitching prospect we're most looking forward to see develop this year. For me it's easily Campos and Tyler Austin.

  9. Tampa Yankees app

Available for iPhone and iPad (at least) Last year the app sucked. This update sucks less. It's good for stats and roster info. There are a few videos. I suppose with media coverage for Tampa being a black hole, this is an improvement.

  14. Why does Marc Newman still have a job?

Just looking at the production we've gotten from the farm since 2005 when Cashman got more power and building the farm became a priority, it's hard to see a lot that recomends him Drafting and development of pitchers and position players- with the exception of relievers- has been barren Why no change at the top and throughout the whole system?

  15. Stocking the farm

With the Yanks poised to reduce salary over the next couple of years we will place a higher dependency on our farm. This year we'll have 3 of the top 32 picks in the draft. Looks like a good year to fill some gaps.

  17. Yankees adding 2nd Gulf Coast Team!

The Yankees have been working on adding another minor league team for a couple of years now and it's finally a reality. PSP has mentioned it was really close to being done a while back. Anyhow, they will have a second team in the GCL which means more Latin players playing over here instead of the Dominican League as the Yankees have been doing a great job of acquiring young international talent and improving their draft choices in the domestic draft. http://www.milb.com/index.jsp?sid=l124

  20. Steve Pearce Opts out of Contract

Apparently he had a June 1 option to opt out if another club was willing to put him on 25 man roster. Os did so he's gone. Too bad looked like he was having a solid year at AAA.
