Forum: Around The Minors

Who's coming up? Who's going down? What's happening with the Yankees Minor League clubs?

  1. Sticky Thread Sticky: Welcome to draft day 2012! (new draft rules added to 1st post)

Happy Draft day folks. I expect we will have a lot of discussion over the next couple days about the picks this team and others make. i am just taking the time to remind you that this year the treads will be actively moderated and all CS apply to every post. last year the warning meant that i didn't have to suspend anyone for the draft and i would like that run to continue trashing players, FO members, and excess negativity will earn you a suspension through the end of the draft. not...

  2. Minor League News & Notes: Offseason 2014-15

Guess I'll start the thread off with this. Mark Feinsand: • Former Red Sox hitting coach Greg Colbrunn has been hired to be the hitting coach for Yankees Single-A affiliate in Charleston. • Colbrunn coached in Charleston from 2007-12 before joining the Red Sox. • Source said Colbrunn's decision to leave Red Sox and return to Charleston was about wanting to be home. He lives in Charleston.

  5. Captain's Camp

New player development coach, Gary Denbo, designed this 6 week program for top prospects to go through which teaches them basic leadership skills. Jeter made a surprise appearance. What a great read and fabulous program! Kudos to Denbo. http://www.nj.com/yankees/index.ssf/2015/03/derek_jeter_held_private_meeting_with_yankees_top.html

  8. Rank your top 10 Prospects

Rank your personal top 10 with an explanation as to why for your #1. Mention a few notables as well. Obviously this list could change barring other moves (Moncada). 1. Aaron Judge - when I watch this guy play he just looks like the real deal. 6'7" and 230 pounds makes his swing look effortless. He actually doesn't have a long swing like most sluggers do. It's really compact. Helps him hit for average and be an all around producer. Plays a very good RF as well with some speed. Seems...

  11. 2014 Minor League Game Threads

A little late with this. But here was tonight's minor league actions from Yankee affiliates. Mitchell with 12 K's in 6 innings! Triple-A Scranton was rained out yet again. They’ve played ten games and had six rainouts this season. Crazy. They’ll try to play a doubleheader tomorrow, but the forecast isn’t much better. Double-A Trenton (2-0 win over Akron) CF Mason Williams: 1-4 LF Ben Gamel & 3B Rob Segedin: both 0-3, 1 BB — Gamel was caught stealing … Segedin scored a run and...

  12. Another team's prospects thread

I couldn't find a thread for talking about another team's prospects. I didn't want to put this in the All purpose thread because that is for the Yankees. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/news/262103.html I'll take this guy. Maybe we can work out a deal. :D Sometimes a change of scenary is good for a player.

  14. Went to the Sea Dogs vs. Thunder game:

Had an awesome time and got to meet a few of the players. Luis Severino- Walked up to the fans and willingly signed autographs. Asked about his scratch today, and he said he was fine. Looked pretty happy and seemed alright from our view. Very awesome kid, who came out of the bus to sign for the fans! Mason Williams- A great kid. Also willingly came up to the fans and talked to us for a bit, and signed some memorabilia. He has struggled to hit the ball the last year or so, but I'm...

  18. Poll: #2 Yankees Prospect

With 9 votes each - Sanchez & Judge tied atop the #1 Yankees Prospect. Tiebreaker goes to Sanchez (since he's been the clear #1 prospect for the previous couple of years). If Judge is 1A he'll win #2 Yankees prospect convincingly below. Top 20 Yankees Prospects: 1. GARY SANCHEZ Choices for #2 Yankees Prospect 1. Manny Banuelos 2. Greg Bird 3. Ian Clarkin

  20. 2014 Staten Island Yankees

Hello all, I wanted to make the announcement that I will be back this year covering the Staten Island Yankees and that my website www.PinstripedProspects.com will launch this year with coverage of the team. I am looking into expanding in 2015 with coverage of the other levels but need writers/photographers etc to get that done. If you haven't already check out the new website and let me know what you think.
