  1. Any Redskins fans here?

Is there anyone here besides me who is brave enough (or stupid enough?) to admit to being a Washington Redskins fan? Just wondering.

  4. Is cooking a sport?

I tried watching some football to alleviate the empty aching feeling I get when there's no baseball to watch. The Army-Navy game was pretty exciting, but every other game I've tried has ben really boring... The one competitive tv how I did see that really got me interested was ... IRON CHEF! The episode with the tie-breaking extra-half hour overtime "scallion battle" was intense! Anyone else enjoy that show? -ctan p.s. ok, if I sound like a raving lunatic, it's because I'm in...

  6. Knicks

These guys are killin me! They can play superbly for a few games in row, then play the dismal Hawks and get blown away! Whats up with that? It seems they have a history of getting too complacent and lackluster against crappy teams but rise to the occasion against good ones. Any comments out there?   Rita

  7. Giants Look to Wrap up Home Field

Oh how sweet it would be to destroy Dallas on their own field tonight and wrap up the NFC East. Plus, if New Orleans loses, the Giants have a first-round bye. Go Falcons!!

  8. What Is This Knicks Mess??

Shooot me!!!! As if Houston (my FAV player) missing the potential game winning 3 pter wasn't bad enough, now this? Sheeeesh! ------------ From ESPN.com NEW YORK (AP) -- For the New York Knicks, this one was embarrassing. The Utah Jazz routed the Knicks 89-58 Friday night, New York's lowest point total since the shot clock was introduced. The Knicks had as many turnovers (25) as they had baskets, and shot just 39 percent.

  11. A Football Funny

An oldie but goodie: A young man was very excited because he just won a ticket to the Super Bowl. His excitement lessened as he realized his seat was in the back of the stadium. As he searched the rows ahead of him for a better seat, he found an empty one right next to the field. He approached the man sitting next to the empty seat and asked if it was taken. The man replied, "No." Amazed the young man asked, "How could someone pass up a seat like this?" The older

  14. RIP Chris Antley, 2-time Kentucky Derby Winner

I was devastated to read this in The Daily Racing Form today. :( I was a fan of Antley's when he rode in New York and New Jersey. When he came back last year and won the Derby and the Preakness aboard Charismatic, I was so happy for him. I'll never forget the Belmont Stakes, when Charismatic broke down in the homestretch and Antley jumped off the horse and held its leg immobile until the ambulance came. That brought tears to my eyes because it illustrated Antley's concern for the animal. ...

  16. Got my skis tuned up!

I picked up my skis today from Mt. Everest Sports in Westwood NJ. They always do a good job of outfitting my family. I hear there's snow everywhere and that this is the best season opening in a long time. I'd like to get a respectable amount of skiing in this year. Mostly we go to Hunter, and Jiminy Peak. But I used to go a lot to Stowe in Vermont, and Wildcat in New Hampshire. I'm putting my 2 year old on skis this year. I have a special harness where he travels down the hill in front of me...

  18. University of Oregon- where you fear the ducks!

Watch out folks- cuz the ducks are comming to town! Today, we defeated #8 Washington State in OT by blocking their field goal. The game was shown only on closed circuit tv in the campus area and at McArthur court (the basketball stadium) on big screen Tvs. My dad and his buddies and I went to Mac court and watched with 2 thousand other 'quackers' as Oregon looked like crap for 3 quarters, and we trailed by 1 goddamn poin thru 2 quarters. Finally, we tied it up just so we can go to OT, promptly...

  19. Stupid Comcast Cable!!

So I get home at 9:00 p.m. last night, looking forward to watching the Rangers game on MSG. I have Comcast Cable so we only get MSG I - we don't get FOX Sports NY or MSG II. I turn on the TV as I crawl into bed and what do I see - the freakin' Chase Championships Preliminary Rounds!!!!!! Do I really care whether Lindsay Davenport beats some schmo from Sweden to make it into the second round? NO - I care about whether the Rangers tack another 2 points on their lead in the Atlantic (while the...

  20. Madison Square Garden

That place is AWESOME! It's much bigger than it looks on tv, which surprised us, because Yankee Stadium looks much bigger on tv than when you're actually there. I love the intro they do before the Rangers take the ice. Simple, but very, very nice. I'm disappointed that the Rangers lost, but we had a really good time anyway. Just being there was fantastic. And let me say, you New York City folks get a really bad rap. We stayed at a hotel in Yonkers, just off the NY State Thruway. ...
