  1. Tony Gwyn coaching at San Diego State

I figured I'd post this, since it was on the web a few times. I wouldn't mind seeing how he'd handle that job and transfer his own skills into the youngsters. http://msn.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/caple_jim/1498208.html Friday, January 24 Just call him, coach Gwynn By Jim Caple ESPN.com They're playing a football game of some note in San Diego this weekend, but the city's most famous sports figure has a more important game several hundred miles away in Tempe, Ariz. Tony Gwynn, future...

  4. Theo Fleury gets into fight at strip club

I'm starting to feel bad for Theo. I know he's bringing it on himself, but he's a great hockey player and this is ruining his career. http://espn.go.com/nhl/news/2003/0123/1497580.html Fleury to remain in the aftercare program -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Associated Press CHICAGO -- Blackhawks forward Theo Fleury won't be suspended after police said he was intoxicated and involved in a fight at a strip club in Columbus, Ohio.

  6. Rangers first 3-game winning streak

I only got to listen to the game, but what I heard was great. They outshot the Caps 36-25, which is rare. I think it's only the 8th or 9th game they outshot their opponents this year. Only 8 penalty minutes which is another rare event. All in all I'm happy with the past couple of games. I hope we can keep it up until Bure gets back so we have a shot. oh, and Messier had yet, another point. an assist on the overtime goal by Bouchard. :) LET'S GO RANGERS!!!!!!! :D ...

  12. Is Chad the next Namath?

After watching Pennington manhandle the Colts yesterday, I was wondering if we were seeing the next Joe Namath. He certainly has the talent and the confidence to be a major leader of the Jets for years to come. What do the rest of you think? I also will say that I'm a Giants fan but find Pennington's talent as awsome!

  13. Miami Hurricanes got Screwed

I really thought that it was a great Fiesta Bowl until the overtime. Though I really do dislike Miami, that pass interference call on 4th down in the endzone during OSU's first OT drive was brutal. Bad job Ref.

  14. Hell Freezing Over as Rangers on Verge of Winning 2 in a Row!

It...it can't be. My eyes must be deceiving me. Is this the same team I've been watching all season? They're playing one of their best games of the season against Toronto tonight and leading 4-0 with about 10 minutes to go as of this post. Please, please let this be the start of a prolonged run. A six game winning streak and/or 9 out of 11 would do a world of justice to the team's playoff chances. James

  16. Let's Go Orange!

We got any other fellow Orangemen/Orangewomen up in here? Man, the Bball team looks like it has a ton of potential. If Anthony stays for another year, then they'll be a force to be wreckoned with next year.

  17. Poll: Terrell Owens

For some reason Terrell Owens doesn't piss me off. If you compare him to a jerk like Deion Sanders, Owens's antics seem insignficant. Deion planned his showboating well in advance and wanted to annoy the opposing team and their fans, and to draw attention to himself from the media and the league. Owens doesn't seem to care much about the attention he receives. I think he just does these things for his own personal amusement, like a two year old baby.

  19. Typical Jets... (Game Thread)

They look great... until it counts. They look like the same old Jets out there. Stupid penalties, missed field goals, dropped passes, bad blocking, fumbles, etc. It's only the first half, and the Jets already have a whole game's worth of bad plays. Oh well, thanks for the run, guys... -jim
