Leader of men
By Mike Puma
I am loving this .......
After watching Pennington manhandle the Colts yesterday, I was wondering if we were seeing the next Joe Namath. He certainly has the talent and the confidence to be a major leader of the Jets for years to come. What do the rest of you think? I also will say that I'm a Giants fan but find Pennington's talent as awsome!
I really thought that it was a great Fiesta Bowl until the overtime. Though I really do dislike Miami, that pass interference call on 4th down in the endzone during OSU's first OT drive was brutal.
Bad job Ref.
It...it can't be. My eyes must be deceiving me. Is this the same team I've been watching all season? They're playing one of their best games of the season against Toronto tonight and leading 4-0 with about 10 minutes to go as of this post. Please, please let this be the start of a prolonged run. A six game winning streak and/or 9 out of 11 would do a world of justice to the team's playoff chances.
From 7am to midnight, ET. Super Bowls I to XXX.
30 minutes apiece.
Midnight to 1am, ET, SB XXXII and XXXIII.
Also 30 minutes apiece.
We got any other fellow Orangemen/Orangewomen up in here?
Man, the Bball team looks like it has a ton of potential. If Anthony stays for another year, then they'll be a force to be wreckoned with next year.
For some reason Terrell Owens doesn't piss me off. If you compare him to a jerk like Deion Sanders, Owens's antics seem insignficant.
Deion planned his showboating well in advance and wanted to annoy the opposing team and their fans, and to draw attention to himself from the media and the league.
Owens doesn't seem to care much about the attention he receives. I think he just does these things for his own personal amusement, like a two year old baby.
Now that the Giants and Jets are done, who will you be pulling for next week?
I think I will go with Tampa Bay and Tennessee.
They look great... until it counts. They look like the same old Jets out there. Stupid penalties, missed field goals, dropped passes, bad blocking, fumbles, etc. It's only the first half, and the Jets already have a whole game's worth of bad plays.
Oh well, thanks for the run, guys...
Who's gonna win this one?
As if it wasn't bad enough, the Giants should have gotten another play. Someone shoot me now.
NFL: Niners should have been flagged for interference
NEW YORK -- The San Francisco 49ers' 24-point comeback victory over the New York Giants ended with an officiating error.
The NFL said Monday that pass interference should have been called against the 49ers on the final play of the 39-38 thriller.
Anybody else do this? I haven't been out in a few years, but we were looking for something different to do so we headed out at 9:00 (which is kind of late) and were on Glass Lake (Rensselaer County) by 10:00. In 3 hours we caught about 8 pickerel, perch and bass. The action was really good for a windy day...about 15 others out there, all doing well. There's plenty of contests held around here, including one on the Sacandaga we may enter next month.
BTW, we pan fried the largest pickerel...
This franchise is in sore need of direction. New York as you well know, there is no better place to play when you WIN. I am sure you see the abundance of talent on this team and I know you are an avid football fan. I have full confidence in your ability to put the proper staff from top to bottom in place to bring a championship back to the Meadowlands and bring joy back to the fine people of the metropolitan area. George, youve got stake in the Nets, now just say YES...
A great story, Does anyone know of this lady, or have heard her on the radio?
For years "Miriam from Forest Hills" has been one of the great hockey callers in New York sports-talk radio. "Ya gotta beat that goaltender top shelf!" she'd insist. "Why don't these guys know that?"
Well, the last game of the season stung like a mother, but, with a full rotation of the Earth gone by, it was a very encouraging season overall.
Jim McNally did an unbelievable job turning a ragtag bunch into a very good (and young) offensive line.
Toomer emerged as a star with the 3rd highest total receiving yards in the league (on only 82 catches), the 3rd highest average yards per catch of any WR with 1,000+ yards, and he led the league in # of catches 20 yards or longer.
As seemingly the only Buckeye Believer on this board, I had to come back and gloat a little. No one gave us a chance, everyone said we 'didn't deserve' to be playing for the title, and almost all the 'experts' (including the ones on this board) said Miami would wipe the floor with us. Well, we showed 'em and it was sweet! I'm hoping this will be the beginning of a long year of winning for all my teams; beginning with the Buckeyes, then the Jets and Giants, and finally the Yankees. Here's to the...
