  1. Bond 24 - Spectre

I say it's threadworthy. Spectre comes out in November. First teaser is out and I'm now convinced that Waltz is Blofeld.

  2. Gas Prices

I couldn't find the old thread. Once again, gas prices are absolutely ridiculous. I think it's up to 3.50 in Connecticut. We just can't catch a freakin break. Higher gas prices, taxes going up, etc etc.

  6. RIP David Bowie

He passed away after an 18 month battle with cancer. I had no clue that he was ill, so this is a shocker to me. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/david-bowie-dead-legendary-artist-854364

  7. We Cast The Dark Tower (Pt 2)

We move on and cast 4 more characters (despite the snubbing of our ideas for Roland). Discuss casting choices for four important characters that round out the ka-tet: Jake Eddie Susannah Oy

  8. We Cast The Dark Tower (Pt 1)

So the Dark Tower series is a go. Funding has been confirmed. A release date of 1/13/17 (That's just a year from Friday kids). And Matthew McConoughey has been cast as Walter Padick (aka: Randall Flagg, aka: the Man in Black). So we need to come up with the best actor for the rest of the cast.

  10. Dark Tower Fans?

I'm looking to see if there are enough fans of the Stephen King Dark Tower books to start a series of discussions on the movies. Check in if you're a fan. Thanks,

  13. Anyone going to check out the Shannara Chronicles?

These were my favorite books growing up by a long shot. The first three are actually still pretty good. And while out of some hope of recapturing some youth I continue to read all the Shannara books that Terry Brooks writes, it's really the same story over and over and the last 6 books or so have been pretty poor. I'm a sucker that way with books, movies and music I guess. I continue to buy Metallica albums for example. So tomorrow night MTV premiers the Shannara Chronicles, which I...

  15. Famous people who have been NYYFANS members

I realize "famous" is a vague word but when posting in the "win method is a crock" thread I remembered an incident when a former YES Network personality posted here for one day. I can only think of 2 people whose real-life names might be recognizable to most posters but maybe people more involved in the site than I over the years can pitch in. Little help here? 1. Curt Schilling of course. 2. Michelle Beadle (Over/under on posts until someone goes for a laugh by naming a fellow poster as...

  16. Please list those TV ads that "send you up a wall"

Some of them are used over and over again far to often and some feel like someone dragging their fingernails across a chalk (slate) board. I'll start; The More family commercial makes me want to vomit. The one with Peter Pan appearing at a 50th Graduation. I'd like to smack him and use my fathers strap on him. My rear end still feels the pain.

  19. Skin care and home water woes!!!!

(I apologize for the formatting, I copied this from a post I made on another forum) When I am in Blacksburg, VA at VT, living off campus, I have little to no problems with breakouts and ingrown hairs and the like. I rarely get breakouts on my face and in fact, it's usually just limited to my shoulders / upper back area... but it's not all that serious.. my breakouts are probably limited to two or three pimples a week but still it's annoying and as a self conscious person I don't...
