  2. Songs that are stuck in your head

Right now I have "lean like a cholo" stuck in my head. It's the one that goes, "elbows up, side to side". Anyone else have a song stuck in their head?

  4. The Official Weather Thread: 2014 Edition

Happy New Year, weather-discussers. Besides Ryan, and maybe Jim Cantore, I like this fellow I follow on Twitter--he still thinks we are in the 6-12" area though some other things I've seen/heard don't think we are getting as much snow as previously stated. http://www.nynjpaweather.com/

  5. Sept 11, 2001--13th Anniversary

A very sad day indeed. A Los Angeles-bound plane from Boston's Logan Airport slammed into one tower. Many wondered if this was terrorist attack, or simply a horrific mistake. Then a 2nd airplane slammed into the other tower, practically slicing it in half, and immediately dooming those on the floors above the crash. The United States was officially under attack, as was the immediate NYC area. Please feel free to share any thoughts that you may have on this. To the many beloved employees...

  7. Credit/Debit Card Security Breaches

The latest is Home Depot..even much larger than the Target one. http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/business/2014/09/home-depot-hd-hack-could-be-biggest-card-breach-ever/ Grr...they are recommending people request new debit cards from their banks which we might do... They are supposedly getting chip and pin machines in all their stores by year end..I wish all retailers would get it like they have in the UK. Have you changed your habits for using credit cards or debit cards online or in...

  10. The Sopranos: The Final Nine Episodes

Someone has to start this thread, and since the final nine episodes begin in just three weeks, I figured I'd do it. I just found this short blog about the ad campaign for the final episodes. http://www.tvsquad.com/2007/03/14/hbo-unveils-final-sopranos-ad-campaign/ I can't wait for April 8th!! I remember when "Season 6 - Part 2" was supposed to start in January, then February...then it was bumped back until April. I really hope it's worth the wait.

  12. The Beer Thread

How did this not exist? What are your favorite brews? Are you big into craft beers? This is my favorite time of year for beers. I do'nt like the fruity summer beers. I prefer darker Oktoberfest and winter brews. Then of course there's the ever popular pumpkin beer. http://draftmag.com/features/10-wildly-diverse-pumpkin-beers/

  13. RIP, Lauren Bacall

Lauren Bacall died today at 89. She was really one of the last big stars of that film generation still with us. http://www.news.com.au/entertainment/celebrity-life/lauren-bacall-dead-at-89/story-fn907478-1227022680399 She's likely best known for her work with Humphrey Bogart, who was also her husband, most notably The Big Sleep and Key Largo, though she worked right up until a couple of years ago.

  14. The Long Island flood

Everyone alright? I got pretty lucky. No damage at home or at work. Commute was bad. Others not so fortunate. Hope everyone is alright! Some people need to stay home and not drive today. I have seen some of the most boneheaded decisions everywhere. I understand many situations are not preventable but much of what I've seen on the road has been caused by dumb people.

Let's hope this thread is brief like last year's vs the 917 pages of 2012's. Arthur is on its/his way up the east coast right now, ready to ruin a lot of peoples' 4th of July. Here are the rest of the named Atlantic storms this year. Nana?? Bertha Cristobal Dolly Edouard

  16. What do you do for work?

I think we've had a thread like this a while before. Though it should be interesting to revisit it. So, what do you do for work? Me, I am now temping as a data entry clerk/office assistant for the City through an agency. I've been in this position for eight months, it seems like it's temp-to-perm but nobody knows what changes will come from management. I am also looking into freelancing. Trying to save or borrow the startup costs isn't easy.
