Happy birthday, Soriambi!
I'm never up in the middle of the night to start these, so I'm excited to finally get to!
Kevin - wishing you a great birthday and all the best in the year ahead!
Keep smiling and celebrate...:gulp:
Let me try again.....
Happy Birthday to one of the nicest guys on the board! Hope you have a great birthday Kev!
:birthday: :birthday: :birthday:
Anyone picked up any good new music lately?
Went on a bit of a tear lately on allofmp3.com and snagged the following:
- Arctic Monkeys- these guys are gonna be hot sh1t this summer, I can already tell after a few listens through the album. they're just regular dudes singing about regular things rather than the whiny woe-is-our-world stuff you're hearing from a lot of their counterparts these days
- DJ Muggs vs GZA "Grandmaster"- the Cypress Hill DJ paired with GZA from the Wu,...
I hope everyone has a very Happy Thanksgiving.
I am thankful for dialysis machines, for which without them I would not be alive right now (it is verys sobering and humbling to know a machine is keeping me alive) and for my friend who will donate a kidney so I can get one and get my life fully back!
I figure enough of us are watching and will continue to post and spoil so lets do it here. So we can discuss freely.
I for one am very happy with it so far. It has a long way to go to live up to what it represents, but it's looking to be a fun ride.
Mind blew just before the Habs/Bruins game and with drunk`en precision was able to replace it with my 19 inch bedroom tv without missing the face off..........
Leaving on a cruise next Friday so I`m not going out to buy one till I do some research/reviews .Plan on spending $1000 with something around 32-37 inches...........
Would appreciate any input on this technology since I`m from the Black and White with tubes and rabbit ear era................
Happy New Year, weather-discussers.
Besides Ryan, and maybe Jim Cantore, I like this fellow I follow on Twitter--he still thinks we are in the 6-12" area though some other things I've seen/heard don't think we are getting as much snow as previously stated.
(NOTICE: Check the bottom of this post for the latest puzzle.)
...at least, that's what it's known as. I think that's an exaggeration but oh well.
I'll present two formulations, the first being the original and the second being from xkcd. The problem statement and solution are the same between the two, but the xkcd version does provide a few hints.
Spoiler/Hint: Something interesting does happen. Can you tell me what days it happens on?
You can find the xkcd version here:...
Yes or no? Remember, it's served between pieces of bread.
Deserves it's own thread.
Let's chat about it.
New show starting on October. "American Horror Story". Have some high hopes for this. I'm pretty psyched about it.
Next Wednesday I will undergo six hours of tests and interviews to determine my viability to be placed on the kidney transplant list. To say this is one of the most important days of my life is an understatement. Not getting on it means I continue on dialysis as long as it works and then that is it as they say. My doctor believes that I will get on as all my numbers are where they should be (for someone with kidney failure). Today I found out two of the pre-tests were waived! Either way I won't...
That's pronounced "two thousand fourteen", not no newby-fangled "twenty-fourteen" (which has never made any kind of sense). anywayz ...
Y'all know the drill. At the end of Saturday night at 2:00am, you advance the clock.
Spring forward; fall back. Guess wot, it's now fall. :)
Today is Election Day!
Could be a big swing in the Senate. GOP will keep the House.
Did you vote yet?
Will you vote later?
Did you vote a straight ticket or split ticket?
Everyone remember this show?
Let's make a list of Baseball related songs.
I'll start with "Centerfielder" by John Fogerty, and add "I Love Mickey" by Teresa Brewer.
OK now lets add to the list.
What are you doing for Halloween this year?
I'll tell you what I'm doing...
Halloween, IMO is for children and at the age of 23, I'm no longer a child. I don't even hand out candy. I turn out all the lights and shut the blinds so people think no one's home. I can't be bothered to sit at the front door for hours and just pass out candy.
I have better things to do.
Goddamn what a disappointment. I will be getting the Nokia Lumia 920 despite the fake advertising.
I tried the Google Machine, but it's a difficult question to Google:
Often, sportscasters (usually in jest) will use the phrase "break up the x!" where x is a team that is traditionally or recently bad that has won a few games in a row or whatever. Does anyone know if there is some origin story to the phrase? Was it used in seriousness about some dynastic team at one point and stuck as a joke through the years?
