  2. Sticky Thread Sticky: Please Use Descriptive Thread Titles

Please show some courtesy to your fellow fans and use descriptive thread titles in this sub-forum and in all other areas of this forum so everyone knows exactly what's being discussed in a particular thread. A thread titled "Joe Torre" for example could be about anything - please specify exactly what you want to discuss in the thread you're starting such as "Will Joe Torre Ever Come Back to the Yankees?". Not everyone has a lot of time on the forum to go in and out of every single thread so...

  1. 2015 Offseason moves

What are some of the moves you want to see this winter? I'm hoping we pick up Lester and/or Scherzer first and foremost but I also think adding a right fielder with power is crucial. Nelson Cruz? We will also have a middle of the infield to put together, I have a feeling we sign JJ Hardy and see how Refsnyder does at 2nd in Spring Training. potential lineup Gardner Hardy Ellesbury Cruz Tex Arod

  2. Heyman: Yankees are seriously considering Scherzer

http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/writer/jon-heyman/24817866/might-yanks-revisit-their-low-key-winter-plan-and-shoot-for-scherzer Heyman is usually right about these sorts of things. I know we all want a big bat this offseason, but Scherzer is my number one rated target.

  4. Who to protect from the Rule 5?

Today's the deadline for players to be added to the 40-man roster and be protected from the Rule 5 Draft. Tyler Austin appears to be the only lock. Anyone else you'd like added?

  6. Yoan Moncada Thread

He has been officially declared a FA by MLB today but some US Office has to unblock him. How long could that take though? I think it's safe to say Yanks can sign him before the next IFA signing period. If you don't know much about this guy, read up on him on Fangraphs. Excellent writeup. http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/yoan-moncada-the-most-fascinating-piece-of-the-offseason/ Really hoping Hal opens his wallet up for this guy. A young 4 or 5 tool shortstop with this much talent...

  7. Yankees News & Notes: Offseason 2014-15

Some coaching staff news: The Yankees reached out to Eric Hinske to see if he had interest in their hitting coach job, but he said no. Hinske was the Cubs first base coach last year and he will be their assistant hitting coach next year. If nothing else, the interest in Hinske shows the Yankees are not prioritizing experience. With Maddon gone, the Yankees could show interest in Rays hitting coach Derek Shelton for their hitting coach position. He managed in the team's farm system...

  8. Would You Do It? Severino, Sanchez and Phelps for Cole Hamels?

Is this the kind of deal you give up your best prospects for? Is Hamel still good enough to be a staff ace in the AL East? He's been remarkably healthy and has approximately 600 less IP on his arm than Sabathia did at the same age (31). The downside is he's owed $22.5M through 2018, with a $20M team option for 2019 and a $24M vesting option based on his health in 2017 & 2018. Exactly the kind of contract that I believe the Yanks need to stay away from. But an ace lefty in good health?...

  9. Would You Do It? David Phelps for David Freese

I've now read a couple of reports that state the Angels might be open to trading David Freese and looking for a backend starter in return. If (and only if) signing Headley doesn't happen, Freese may be a good plan B for 3rd base. Phelps is replaceable, and I'd rather Prado play 2nd base. Needless to say I think it's a mistake to plan on A-Rod being the regular 3rd baseman. I have a hunch Phelps may not be enough, but perhaps throw in a Bryan Mitchell or Chase Whitley (I wouldn't give up...
