  2. Sticky Thread Sticky: Please Use Descriptive Thread Titles

Please show some courtesy to your fellow fans and use descriptive thread titles in this sub-forum and in all other areas of this forum so everyone knows exactly what's being discussed in a particular thread. A thread titled "Joe Torre" for example could be about anything - please specify exactly what you want to discuss in the thread you're starting such as "Will Joe Torre Ever Come Back to the Yankees?". Not everyone has a lot of time on the forum to go in and out of every single thread so...

  2. Is Yankee Stadium dead?

I've felt a decline in the crowd for several years now in terms of enthusiasm, notably when comparing the energy to say a Red Sox game in Fenway, or heck, even an Astros game in Minute Maid Park. This was before the new Stadium was built. Since the new Stadium was erected, it can't be denied that actual game attendance seems to be declining, but worse, the crowd energy just seems...well...dead. I've noticed and I'm sure many of you have as well. Then came this article I was reading today on...

To continue Tz's awesome tribute to Jeter in the countdown thread, I've amassed over 180 pictures of Jeter and plan to post one for every day to the end of the regular season. Enjoy. Day 1

  6. How Good is Vidal Nuno?

I really don't know much about him and I didn't see todays game. I can tell by the pitching line that he did really well today, but is that real or a mirage? Is there anything in his minor league past to indicate he has a real chance to be a good fifth starter this year? Seeing how he is now such an important part of our season, I thought this topic might deserve its own thread. I assume I'm not the only one who doesn't know a lot about Nuno, so maybe the guys who follow the minor...

  7. Ellsbury In The #3 Hole?/ 7 Infielders?

With Teixeira being back, my guess is Girardi will be trying to stick with a more stable lineup ASAP. I like the idea of Ellsbury staying in the #3 hole – he may be their best hitter for average, and I feel it lengthens the lineup. Also, I think Gardner is a better leadoff hitter than he is batting at the bottom of the lineup. Somehow he needs to cut down on his strikeouts, and I think he may strike out less when leading off just because of a different mindset. 1-Gardner - L 2-Jeter - R...

  8. Do the Yankees have the best bullpen in the AL East?

I know that losing Mo was a huge loss, but to me, I can't really think of a better pen than the Yankees. Maybe not one worse, but I really can't pick on pen in the east and say "yeah, they're better". Thoughts? Discussions?

  10. Put Jeter At Third

Jete still has a great arm but his range is seriously diminished. Why not put him at third base like Cal Ripken? Here come all of the haters, but is it not best for the Yanks?

  12. Mounting Injuries vs. The Use of PEDs

An interesting piece by Joel Sherman in today's NY Post: http://nypost.com/2014/04/13/scheduling-strict-ped-testing-may-be-factor-in-injuries/ I hadn’t considered the fact that logically, if the use of PEDs is being reduced, the number of injuries & the time it takes to heal them will be affected. In Sherman’s words: “…. a sport that always tested the depth of your 25- and 40-man rosters — and even more than that — is doing so in a greater way now. The combination of staying...

  17. Can the Yankees Win Pennant with Jeter's Defense at SS?

I am an optimist about baseball. I have had hope, if not expectations or confidence, about every Yankee team since the mid-90s, even for the first two thirds of last year. This team has a lot of question marks, but we can hope we get the right answers for most of those questions. But Jeter's current range at SS is not even a question. It is what it is, and what it is is very limited, even more so than pre-injury. Just watch the replay of his belated dive in the first inning yesterday. We...
