  2. Sticky Thread Sticky: Please Use Descriptive Thread Titles

Please show some courtesy to your fellow fans and use descriptive thread titles in this sub-forum and in all other areas of this forum so everyone knows exactly what's being discussed in a particular thread. A thread titled "Joe Torre" for example could be about anything - please specify exactly what you want to discuss in the thread you're starting such as "Will Joe Torre Ever Come Back to the Yankees?". Not everyone has a lot of time on the forum to go in and out of every single thread so...

  1. Yankees Headed To Arbitration With Dellin Betances

http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/18510807/new-york-yankees-headed-arbitration-pitcher-dellin-betances Apparently the Yankees are headed to an arbitration hearing with Betances, the first hearing they've had with a player in nearly a decade. Betances would be a closer on basically every other team and the Yankees have been suppressing his earnings by keeping him a middle reliever for as long as possible. ---- "Eligible for arbitration for the first time, Betances submitted a...

  2. 2016 Winter Hot Stove Thread

With the season over, fair to start thinking about possible moves this offseason. Personally, I'd love to see a #2 type starter, and maybe one offensive upgrade. The two opportunities I might pursue on offense would be at 3B, where perhaps a deal can be found somewhere for Headley. Or OF, which would require finding a landing spot for Gardner (or Ellsbury if at all possible). Both are positions that have been sorely lacking in power production. As for pitching, perhaps a buy low opportunity...

  3. Adam Warren: Has The Ship Sailed?

Girardi: "Adam, we want you to come to ST prepared to start" Warren (under his breath): "Been there, done that" Is it finally time to see if Warren can hold down a starting role for more than half a season? He threw about 130 innings in 2015 but was down to about 70 IP last year, so it might be hard to expect him to carry a starter's workload. Then again this may be Warren's last opportunity - and the timing is perfect! I think I'd rather see Warren starting ahead of Cessa & maybe even...

  4. Sanchez-Holliday-Bird-Judge = New Middle of Lineup?

I'd like to keep Headley, Gregorius, and Castro in the 7-8-9 spots. Good 'Ol Gardner & Ellsbury at the top (yuck!). Will that middle hit 110HRs? Drive in 317 runs? Get on base about .305 & slug around .430? That's about how the 2016 Yankee 3-4-5-6 spots did in those categories, with the #3 spot (Sanchez & Beltran) carrying the load. With Sanchez replacing McCann, Holliday replacing A-Rod, Bird replacing Teixeira and Judge replacing Beltran, can we expect (or just hope for) a more potent...

  5. Dietrich Enns vs. Jordan Montgomery For 5th Spot

These two have now had some good AA/AAA experience and I think both can be stretched out to about 150IP this season. They're both lefties, they're both 24, & they both have + changeups as part of their arsenal. It would be fun if Girardi announces he wants to add a lefty to the rotation and then lets these two battle for the spot in ST and throughout the season. Perhaps the loser becomes the 2nd lefty & long reliever in the bullpen. Isn't it time to see if both these guys should have spots...
