I guess you should discuss football in here.
Another year, another season in the National Football League. Their 95th year.
Didn't see the game yesterday (worked until 7:00), but the highlights looked sloppy.
Okay. For me the season doesn't start until the new schedule is released. And since I didn't see a new thread here yet I figured it's time to start a new one.
Do we go WR, TE, DE or OT in the first round of the draft?
And with JPP showing up lighter and stronger I'm expecting a great season from him.
Is it time for the NFL to do something regarding state taxes?
As a Raider fan I know part of the problem is the team itself and facilities, but it seems teams with no state taxes like Florida, Texas etc have a distinct advantage over teams that have state taxes, especially high state taxes. California alone is 13.5 when salary goes over 1 million. I'm sure NY is high too.
Should the NFL allow teams from high tax states get adjusted cap space to level the playing field?
Another year, another season in the National Football League.
Lots of FA moves...looking forward to the draft...
I spoke with the commish and he in for another season. I think its about 10 seasons or more.
So guys, are you ready for another great season?

Alright, week 1 has come and gone; a chance to start over and get that first win or continue the winning streak.
Matchup 1: Vicktim of Success (0-1) vs. Falcoholics (1-0)
VoS was unlucky last week and has elected to change up at QB going with Newton. VoS appears to be sticking with the 3WR set that scored so many pts last week. The Falcos have the standard 2 RB set and must have faith that Woodhead is going to put up some points against the Seahawks D.
I'm not convinced: Vicktim's by...
Adam Schefter <s>@</s>AdamSchefter Earlier today, Jets announced they released LB Bart Scott, LB Calvin Pace, S Eric Smith and T Jason Smith.
Moves that were expected.
Hoping to keep up with the fans' insatiable appetite for player statistics, the NFL will install real-time location systems in 17 of its stadiums this year.
Receivers, placed in the players' shoulder pads, will work in tandem with radio frequency identification transmitters to turn player movement into meaningful measurements.
The league, in its announcement Thursday, said that it hopes...
Christmas in the spring!
This is shaping up to be one of the most interesting drafts in years...
Johnny football alone is worth price of admission...
Deep WR this year...
QBs are all over the map...
My Raiders are at #5
Figured we might as well start this off with some decent news. Will Beatty gets re-signed, 5 years 38.75 mil. Just hope he stays healthy!

Best commercials already showing up........
My dad says that sports bars call it "the big game" or something else because the term "Super Bowl" cannot be used without the NFL's permission. I understand the NFL being able to copyright "Super Bowl" so another event can't have the same name, but I don't think the law should allow the NFL to restrict who can call the Super Bowl "the Super Bowl." Regardless of the law, I think if calling it "the Super Bowl" is a crime it would be a victimless crime, and if the NFL sued somebody for calling...
2013 NFL Season chatter here...
So guys, are you ready for another great season?
Who is coming back? Myself and my two guys are back.
Commish...come on down...
As everyone knows, 2013 wasn't a good year for both New York football teams. In fact, it wasn't a good year for any NY team, but that's a discussion for another time. The question is, which team had a more disappointing season? The New York Jets or the New York Giants?
Who wins the South this year? I still think Houston is the class of the division and Indy will take a big step back. They won't be awful but they won't be as lucky as they were last year.
Aaron Rodgers has 335 passing yards at halftime. The previous record for passing yards in a half according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_records_(individual)#Passing_yards was 330 for Steve Grogan on October 11, 1981.
Edit: ESPN says Rodgers had 335 but somebody updated Wikipedia to say 336.
Who will win? I think this is the closest division in football. I wouldn't be surprised if any of the 4 teams won. I also think all 4 will be between 8-8 and 10-6.
