I can see both sides of the argument but I didn't have a problem with going to Barbato. He's been solid so far this year and he made some decent pitches.
And send Severino down? Just asking who he replaces - CC has actually been a reasonably decent pitcher recently and we don't need another bullpen arm.

Agree with you here - since Ellsbury wasn't getting 7/$153M from anyone else, the Yankees clearly overplayed their hand in this matter.
In extra innings on the road, you should save your closer for an actual save, not a hold situation.
