• Joba could be nearing return

We heard over the weekend that Joba Chamberlain could return to the Yankees by the end of the month, and now George King details what those plans would entail. Joba threw a bullpen session yesterday in Tampa, and will appear in another game for Tampa tonight, I guess (King says “tomorrow,” and the piece is dated Sunday night, so I guess he’s referring to tonight), though he goes on to make it sound as though Joba would work in back-to-back games Tuesday and Wednesday. Either way, the plan seems to be that Joba will work in at least three more minor league games, with two of those being back to back outings, before coming off of the disabled list, and would seem to be on track to return as early as next Monday.
