• Yankees win 6-5 in battle of the initials as CC, RA look mortal

The Yankees emerged victorious from a sloppy, slog of a game Sunday night, taking the second Subway Series from the Mets (and—more importantly—winning the much-anticipated battle of the initials in the process). The teams combined to make five errors on the night, however, and failed to make the much-anticipated pitching duel of aces CC Sabathia and RA Dickey materialize. With the win, the bombers started their second winning streak after a weekend series against their crosstown rivals; the previous streak lasted 11 games and rocketed the Yanks into sole possession of first place in the American League East.
