• Teixeira expects to play Subway Series

    Mark Teixeira was not in the Yankees’ starting lineup for yesterday afternoon’s game with the Braves after taking a ball to the foot off of the bat in Jason Heyward Tuesday night. He did make a late-game appearance as a pinch hitter, but after the game he told reporters that his left foot was still tight and sore. Nevertheless, Teixeira expects to be ready tomorrow night when the second leg of the Subway Series opens at Citi Field.
