I've never been there so I can't really answer your question, but I actually have a question for you. Are you looking for wireless internet access so that you can tell us about how your trip is going on NYYFans.com?

Cooperstown is a great little town. I went to school in Oneonta which was like 20 minutes from there. 4 days seems like a long time for such a small town but im sure you will have a blast at the HOF. Great local beer/ brewery selections too... check out Old Slugger and Ommegang while your there.

For the 4th of July holiday we will heading to my in-laws who live only about 20 mins from there. I have been to the BBHOF only once and for about half a day. I would really like to go back. I will probably wait until another time since it will probably be too crowded.

I remember when I went as a kid about 11 years old there was a baseball bat that a guy used his whole career(1 bat his whole time in the league.). I try to find it again when I went about 10 years ago I didn't see it.. I plan a trip this summer or in October … I would say you need at least a day and to see the place… But they were working on it last time it was there…. I found going in the evening a few hours before it close was really the best time to see allot of stuff.... There is a small theater that you watch a movie .. Watch for the ken griffey catch in Yankee stadium:)

I've been there 3 times myself, but not since they renovated the third floor a few years ago. Most impressive thing for me is the bat Babe Ruth used to call his famous 1932 WS homer. Also a game ball used by Cy Young for his 500th career win. I understand Archer was at that game, he can tell you about it! :)

If youre looking for wireless internet access in cooperstown there are a couple of ways to get it.But when are you going to use it??? Staying in hotel or out and about??? If you were staying in a hotel Im sure Some of the hotels in downtown albany have wireless internet connections and albany isnt that far away from cooperstown about 40 minutes by car with traffic If you need a breif connection to the internet you wont even need a computer just go to crossgates mall and check your mail perhaps even Suny albany which is right on route 20 which btw is the same route i use to go out to cooperstown but there are plenty of areas where you can get a signal from there... It really depends on how long youre gonna be on the internet. If you need directions to cooperstown i could help you with that as well..

I remember standing next to it thinking he had the same strike zone I would. Then i'd look and wonder how he hit so well in half those spots.

I've always wanted to go, but never made it. Can anyone recommend hotel's in Cooperstown? Also, are the weekend's too packed to enjoy it, or is it best to visit on weekday's?

I go with another guy so we stay in a relatively inexpensive (and not as nice) of a hotel called the Baseball Town Motel. The advantages are that it's two doors down from the HOF and free parking (key in Cooperstown) is included. I would say the only time it's packed to where it's uncomfortable is Induction weekend. It's open 9-9 during the summer.

Greetings from Cooperstown. Great day at the Hall. One thing in a store I loved. A picture of Cabrera climbing the wall against Boston when Manny hit it. It was autographed by Melky.

Looked pretty real to me. Also, they had next to it his cleats from that game, a rally monkey from the Angels in 2002, hat worn by Jack McKeon in the 2003 WS and Luis Gonzalez' bat from the 2001 WS. Needless to say the camera stayed in the case in that section.

Agreed. Gross! I saw it when I was there last September. Didn't you think that the sock was really long, like four feet long? I don't know, just a really wierd thing to look at.

One of my favorite exhibits there is the case with all of the World Series winners rings. Very cool and very impressive. Didn't like the Marlins 2001 ring, thought it was too much. Have to say that Boston's ring was beautiful. Yankee rings were, of course, the classiest!

FWIW, if you go to the Yankees game on July 30, which is HOF induction day, your ticket stub will get you into the Baseball Hall of Fame for free. It is good for a year. (at least I am assuming they will do this again as they have for a while now)

That's a $15 value.

As for the Hall itself, if you intend on going to 2 or more days in a year, join as an "individual member" for $40. Even if it's 2 days, that's $30 in value there. Plus you get the Hall of Fame yearbook ($10), a Hall of Fame cap, a metal pin, subscription to the Hall magazine and 10% off all items there and free shipping. An excellent deal.
