Shelley Winters, the forceful, outspoken star who graduated from blond bombshell parts to dramas, winning Academy Awards as supporting actress in "The Diary of Anne Frank" and "A Patch of Blue," has died. She was 85.
Winters died of heart failure early Saturday at The Rehabilitation Centre of Beverly Hills, her publicist Dale Olson said. She had been hospitalized in October after suffering a heart attack.

I can't believe they left out her role as Ma Parker in "Batman." :P

I remember her appearances on Johnny Carson. Her stories were always funny & often very 'revealing'... :) The more Johnny 'baited' her..the more interesting they became. ;)
Rest In Peace, Shirley.
Gene Hackman never should have let her make that long underwater swim.
Rest in Peace Belle.

TCM ran "A Patch of Blue" just this morning. That was probably why they did, 'cause she died yesterday (I missed the little opening lecture they always give before a movie.). She was a real bitch in that movie, a testament to how great an actress she was.
