When did cabbie get out of prison? I haven't heard his show since it went on sirus.

He got out around August. Hours after he was released he came to the studio to do the show. Lost a ton of weight.

I caught some of Cabbie last week. I liked Cabbie on Stern, but never his other K-Rock stuff. I find him annoying and he still is on Sirius, just dirtier.

You get Howard 24/7 on one of his channels. You miss a show or bit, chances are you catch it somewhere later in the week or weekend.

There's nothing like being able to listen to Howard at 11pm if you so choose.

He's more wild and crazy than ever. He has all these theories about how he was drugged and brainwashed in prison, and like his time in the military, he "can't talk about it at this time". He also admitted this week that he shot a porn film in Howard's studio and had sex on Howard's chair (the same chair he brought with him to SIRIUS and still sits in every morning).

Should the title of this thread be changed to "The Howard" thread?

Just got done listening to the first 15 minutes of the show, where he said he would like Trump, aka "The Donald".

Howard got a sympathy letter for Anna Nicole from Denmark and a major Australian paper wrote "she left behind shock jock Howard Stern" or something along those lines.

Found one:

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/149187/howard_stern_changes_moniker_to_the.html

"In the wake of Anna Nicole Smith's death and increasing media attention on her partner and lawyer Howard K. Stern, controversial Sirius DJ Howard Stern (http://www.associatedcontent.com/theme/864/howard_stern.html) asked listeners today to stop calling him by his full name.
The lawyer Stern has been frequently confused with the disc jockey in recent weeks, both in print and in broadcasts.

While the disc jockey did admit that he appreciated the free press to an extent, he didn't want to be confused with the other Howard Stern, and was angered when he heard some news outlets dropping the "K." from the lawyer Stern's name during reports.
"I don't want to be associated with that retard," Stern said on his daily radio show when announcing the change.

Though obviously not completely serious, Stern corrected his listeners several times when they addressed him by the wrong name, and mentioned that his other moniker, The King of All Media, took a while to catch on, too."

I know he has been on Howard many times. I heard him when Howard was still on regular radio. Howard's listeners would know about him but what I meant is that he is supposed to be a lawyer and in lawyers circles he is not known. They said he never actually handled any cases. I am beginning to think he is a scam artist and a hanger on. Howard had it right. He was the first one to say that about Howard K and he was right! That is why I am wondering if Howard K Stern is his real name.

I can just see it now. Within the next few years, Howard and Beth have the son that Howard never had.

25 years from now, he goes on to become a bigshot in radio as well. Just like Howard's dad, Howard is calling into his son's show talking about how he made him the man he is today. ;)

Howard may reitre at the end of this 5-year contract with Sirius. He has casually mentioned it at times and Artie mentioned this marriage may be part of the groundwork leading to his retirement.

Howard has said before Sirius he would hang it up, but he's still around. My guess is at the end of the five years we'll see if the fire still burns, plus he is still on the ground floor in Satellite radio. His ego would drive him to want to make Sirius huge and quiet the naysayers who said he would fail there.

He's made so many references to leaving in 4 years, he already takes every single Friday off, and he's getting married. I think there's a less than 5% chance he re-signs. He may change his mind, 4 years is a long time from now, so you never know. But with all his other interests, already taking a day off a week, and today saying that Bubba will do a live morning show on Friday (insinuating he might possibly be passing the torch to Bubba), I think there's a really good chance he's gone after December 2010.

Don't know if he's passing the torch to Bubba or perhaps some sort of live show from someone else is better than his old "Friday Show" or "Mastertape Theatre"-though sometimes those are quite entertaining. Those shows have their place, but perhaps on nights or weekends.

He was very much for it as expected. He has a lot of stock, so his position was very predictable.

Mel Karmizan, CEO of Sirius, came in and discussed the merger. He said there may not be a price increase involved. Though I take that with a grain of salt.

Howard discussed the NAB and their opposition to the merger. The NAB represents terrestrial radio and their interests. The NAB said the Howard should not be rewarded as a "poster boy" for the FCC. Howard responded that he was the NAB's "poster boy" for 20 years.

I have to agree with that. Terrestrial radio had no problem benefiting from the coattails of his program. I wouldn't be suprised if there is a small increase, but I honestly think when XM/Sirius go to the FCC to get approval, one of the things will be a pledge to hold down the cost.

Our good friend, Beetlejuice, has gone missing. According to The Howard 100 News' Steve Langford, several concerned Stern fans ran into a confused Beetle near the train station in Philladelphia. They reported that they gave Beetle directions back to the train station so he could get back on a train to his home in Jersey City, NJ. Michelle, the wife of Beetlejuice's manager, Sean, told Steve that they are currently out looking for their friend and urged anyone who sees Beetle to either call (877) 33-SIRIUS and choose channel “100” for the Howard 100 News Tip Line or TELL BEETLEJUICE TO TURN HIS CELLPHONE ON!!.

He has encouraged it, but the website (votefortheworst.com) was on to it first. But Howard will get attention since the media and fans are scratching their heads wondering why Sunjay is still around.

Funny how the media reports how irrelavent Howard is now, but yet he is somehow effecting AI.

Right on, the media is so screwed up they don't want to admit how popular Howard still is even on Sirius.

There's no way he's going all the way. Even if on the odd chance Stern has over a million listeners, once they get down to the final 5, the rest of the nation who actually votes for the talented people will far surpass those who are voting just as a goof. Right now there's 20 million votes among 10 people. If there's only 3 to choose from, no number of Sanjaya goof votes will overcome the rest of the country.

Not that it matters, that weirdo is gonna out sell the winner anyway because all the 12 year old girls love him.

I don't think every single Sirius subscriber listens to him, but it's not a mere coincidence that subs to that service increased dramatically after they announced he was going there.

Yeah, SIRIUS has added nearly 6 million new subscribers since Stern joined, and maybe one million of them listen.

I know O&A hate Stern, but atleast they are capable of giving him some credit. It's a shame their fans are just blind to the impact that Stern has.

600,000 subscribers in 5 years before Stern signed
6+ million subscribers in 2 years after Stern signed

I'd say he has about 3 million listeners per day, and that's probably a conservative number.

You know, someone just made a point on SFN that is scary, but it might be true. Today on The View, they were talking about breast cancer, and Beth was quiet the whole time. When Rosie joked around and said she should "be quiet", Beth kind of just looked down and said "it's personal", and there was awkward silence.

She did say her health was okay, but I don't know. Howard has said recently he's a little stressed out with something in his personal life right now. I just hope we're looking too much into it. That would be horrible. Maybe it's someone in her family, or a close friend. She looked really uncomfortable during the whole conversation.

Actually, some time last week, didn't Howard say she was having a procedure done "down there"? Hmm.

Will Sanjaya survive tonight?

That was funny when Howard was describing how Beth came into his room while he is dialing for Sanjaya and Beth asks him what is up too and she gets mad.

I'm going through the same thing. My finacee is not happy with my voting since I don't even watch AI. She lets me know when Sajaya is up and I watch his performance, which last night was downright pitiful. I'll also watch the last part of the show tonight where they give the results. So AI should be happy as I am watching 5-10 minutes more of Idol per week than the usual 0 minutes.

I think we are helping it long term, which I try to explain, but I just dig a deeper hole:D.

Perhaps they will either change the flawed process or stop even letting a "Sanjaya" make the final 24, let alone 12. Hell, he should have never even got a chance to sing in front of Simon as many good singers don't get that chance. AI worries more about "Simon momments" instead of getting 24 quality singers. Even with 24 solid singers, I'm sure Simon could still be "Simon" and find plenty to pick apart.

People have been voting for the worst contestant since the show has begun. Remember the red headed kid a few years ago? He went to like Top 5 because people vote them as a goof when the talent isn't that overwhelming. Stern claiming this is because of his show and the fanbase voting is laughable but at the same time....kinda sad.

He's not claiming to be mainly responsible, but he certain is having an notable influence. Millions of people who never watch the show are now voting dozens of times each week. That Sanjaya kid, according to projections, was 3rd in total voting this week. No way he breaks top 5 without Stern's audience.

He was not happy, especially when Richard edited his comments yesterday where he said something like "don't vote for Sanjaya" and he edited out the "don't".

There's probably enough steam to keep Sanjaya alive next week. It will get tougher once we get down to the singers that are actually good. Using "good" loosely here.
