So we are allowed to keep a maximum of 12 players from our roster, but there is a minimum of 7.
Who will your keepers be, at this point in the season?
I think I would have to go
Affeldt - $1
Francis - $5
Bonderman - $7
Lidge - $19
Berkman - $9
Bay - $12
For sure, and then choose between
Lyon - $10
Hafner - $20
Holliday - $10
Lowry - $4
I think Bonderman is going to get locked up pretty longterm this offseason. I'm debating betweeen a 3 and 4 year deal.
$23 for 4 years or $19 for 3?

Question - the minimum of 7 can be made up of both 1-year options AND long terms?

All current salaries, contract length TBD
Blanton-$10
Arroyo-$4
Roberts-$1
Ryan-$9
Cano-$5
Stewart-$1
Griffey-$3
Kazmir-$8
Chacin-$10
Haren-$10
Rios-$10
Inge-$9
That's my 12 as it currently stands, Haren may be subbed out for Meche and it's possible that Peavy stays, but if I had to make my choices right now, those 12 are my keepers.

Griffey is $10, by the way.
Right now, maybe:
Carl Crawford ($34) option
Trot Nixon ($1) two-year deal? Not sure if worth $13 for three-year deal
Miguel Batista ($10) option
Chad Cordero ($3) two-year deal?
Adam Eaton ($5) two years max right now
Trevor Hoffman ($13) option maybe
Randy Johnson ($37) option maybe
Jason Marquis ($10) two/three year deal. Worth $22 though???
Dontrelle Willis ($8) possible three/four year deal if he keeps pitching like he has...right now, $24 a bargain.

unfortunately....
10.3. When a player is claimed off waivers, his salary either becomes $10 or remains the same, whichever is higher.
I'm in the same boat with a few guys...

Its a flaw in Sportsline that I need to look into how to fix. When a guy is released, if he is claimed off waivers his salary is either what was paid for him in the auction or $10; whichever is higher.
Anyone claimed as a Free Agent is salaried at $10.

there's a minimum? I don't want any of the asshats on my team. David Wright is probably the only player.

Not even Wade ($2) Miller? :D
He's doing pretty good, I see. 3 GS, 1-0, 3.18 ERA, 8.47 K/9...

Well it's as of right now. Who knows what things will look like by the end of the year. Never thought I'd consider Wade Miller a keeper though.
